Will Phelps go 8 for 8 gold and break the record for most Gold medals in a single Olympics? He is two for two already. If he gets it will be the greatest Olympic feat ever.
yah i finally got a chance to watch him and on the last 25-30 meters he looked at the other swimmers (he was behind) poured it on and easily got first. guy is crazy

Don't they have to get tested after every race? I didn't vote originally, but I didn't think he would do it.. now.. I'm not so sure. He didn't look at all tired after the two races today... but it's hard to believe he won't fatigue at all in the full 9 day span. It's certainly fun to watch though.
dunno how this is in the basketball area but anyways i dont know how much is that new suit that everyone is wearing that is causing all the records to fall. maybe if wearing the older suit he wouldnt be setting as many records BUT everyone is wearing that suit and he is just simply killing everyone and its not even close...I think the 200m fly last night was his closest race and that was because he had water get into his goggles and couldnt see properly when he made his push going into the last 50m....and he still set the WR in that event. man he is 23..most gold medals ever...makes me look like i havent done anything in my life. he very well may have 14 golds at the end of these olympics and who knows end his swimming career with over 20...23 he still will be in his physical prime in london. the guy is just a freak swimmer. his endurance is just off the charts. i just feel bad for the other swimmers they should just give phelps the gold, and let the other people swim for silver and bronze he just makes people look stupid out there. i am rooting for him to get 8 gold. i saw the medal charts right now china has 17 gold to usa's 10 (but us overall medal leader 29-27) phelps has half of the us gold medal count right now. actually i think almost all the us gold so far have been in swimming.

this kid lives in the water.. anyone who eats 10,000 calories/day and manage to still weigh less than 200 lbs. is doing some serious workouts... i don't think anyone can beat this kid

Damn right he will get all 8 gold. This is Michael Phelps now, he's on the level of a Tiger Woods/Michael Jordan/Muhammad Ali in terms of dominating his sport.
Lol Actually Michael is winning through something all of us don't have...Superior Genetics. Phelps is 6'4 (perfect length for a long...fast stroking swimmer) has a wingspan of 6'10 (Not bad could be better) He is double-jointed so it adds extra flexibility and movement in the pool. ...and it doesn't hurt that your mental mindset is a rock and you train harder than any other swimmer in the world.
Is doping a big thing for the Olympics on american television? Here in Germany there is a whole lot of talk about it... people just wonder how they can absolutly crush every single world record and some swimmers even increasing their top speed by over 8 seconds in a 200m race. What Michael Phelps is doing is just incredible and so also really unbelievable, so I´d like to know if the media make a story out of it (did he use doping) or if they are just celebrating the gold medals.
celebrating the gold medals...over here they are making more of an issue of the new swimsuit that everyone is using that allows you to glide through the water faster with less friction that speedo made. i mean everyone is using that suit and everyone seems to be breaking their old times. i doubt he is doping the guy set WRs in athens and set WRs in various championships since then if he was doping I am sure in today's day of scrutiny something would have came up since they test after every event.
