In the wake of LeBron's announcement, most "experts" seem to be jumping on the bandwagon with full force, predicting 50+ wins easily, and multiple championships.

As we know, Morey met with Chris Bosh and presented him with data that suggested a union of himself, Wade, and James, would only yield about 45 wins given the lack of resources left over to fill out the roster with quality players.

Now that all three have committed to signing with Miami, Morey's prediction will be put to the test.

Will Morey be proven right, or proven wrong?

I'm thinking "wrong", but not by much. I'll go with 50 wins.

    I think they'll win 65 or so...

See Morey said that with regards to it being James, Wade, Bosh and 9 D-League guys, basically.

He didn't have analysis of those 3 with guys like M. Miller and Shaq in the fold.

    Are the Shaq rumors substantiated?

I don't think Mike Miller makes them significantly better, given that his only possible positions are the ones filled by Wade and James. Are they going to make Wade or James a PG? I don't know about that.

Forty five wins will get you into the playoffs in the East. Championships? Playoffs in the East most likely.

Bosh will play Morey's IPad before every Miami vs. Houston game for motivation.

I'll take the over on 45 wins, but not by a whole heck of a lot. Even if they take a little less money each, they aren't going to have any depth on the roster. If one of their big guns has an off night, they are going to be in trouble.

The East has gotten a little better, but it's still the East. With two more patsies than the West (teams under .400), Morey will unfortunately be proven wrong.

Morey is a lot better at PR, than people think he is....he was making a pitch...that team will win more games than that.

He is only saying that because he hopes his method of acquiring players is better then how Miami is doing it.

3 superstars with a bunch scrubs or a bunch of decent players.... we'll see next season

I don't like disagreeing with Morey, but 45 seemed a little low. James/Wade will have trouble coexisting on the court, but I think they'll probably be in the 50-55 range.

    This.

It may not be specifically Shaq and Miller, but it's those caliber of players that will flock to Miami now for the chance to win a championship. And historically, the team with the 3 highest PERs in the league will win the trophy at the end of the year.

Now, I understand that these three guys played on 3 different teams with 3 different balls and tons of possessions. However, their efficiency ratings aren't based only on points scored. These guys can do things without the ball that will garner success at a high rate.

I think they'll be beatable in a 7 game series (unlike a number of sour Rockets fans lately), but they're my favorites for winning it all for the next 4-5 years because they'll attract better than D-League players accepting substantially less salary than otherwise.

When I think of the garbage that surrounded Yao/McGrady a few years ago when they were managing to win 50+ games in an extremely tough Western Conference...

I'm taking over 50 at least.

No doubt Shaq would love to hitch his fat wagon to the Heats train, but is LeBron going to want him after last year? Miller would make them substantially better as any elite shooter would do. They'll probably look at all kinds of pure shooters (guys like Kapono, Novak, etc), but Miller has the best all-around game of those guys. It wouldn't surprise me if the Heat end up playing alot of Small-Ball with Bosh being the biggest, LeBron second, Dwade on the wing, a shooter and a PG (Earl Watson anyone?)

50-55 as it stands right now, i guess it just depends on who they actually add.

I have a strange feeling Morey could be right. If he is right, I won't be surprised if we start seeing religious fanatics attempting to crucify Morey for witchcraft.

Not to mention one injury to a big three (Wade anyone?) could deplete them enough to cost a significant amount of games. If the team shapes out like expected (a bunch of scrubs + those 3), LBJ, DW, and CB will be playing 40 minutes a night.
