Based completely on Rudy's use of Ming (not his skill), will he make the Rookie Game? Regardless if Rudy starts increasing his playing time by Jan., will he make the Rookie Team with weak stats? I do not remember who votes for the Rookie participants, but I know the fans don't (sorry china). So if Ming is no where near the top 7 Rookies (let along the top 15 Rookies), will somebody play favorite (to China) and get him in the game for marketing purposes? Remember Griffin, he deserved to be there as well, and people did not blame Rudy for not getting him involved last year. They said Griffin was not ready for the minutes (sound familiar this year?)
Mings only competition would be Hillario & Gadzuric. Hillario would be the big upset, since he can play either PF or Center. With Gooden a lock for the game, you never know. Hopefully not. Mings current numbers are: PPG 3.3 RPG 3.7 BPG 0.3 Hillario: PPG 9.1 RPG 6.4 BPG 1.1 Gadzuric: PPG 5.3 RPG 6.1 BPG 1.7
I believe the NBA picks 8 per team. I am sure Yao Ming will be on the team. There is too much interest in him for him not to be on the team. An exmample Rookie team using 8 players. C- Yao Ming PF - Drew Gooden SF - Caron Butler SG - Manu Ginobili PG - Jay Williams C - Nene Hilario PF - Amare Stoudamire SG - Gordan Giricek As of right now, anyone else deserve to be on the team over the 8 guys I have listed above? Yao will make it. The question is whether Boki will. Poor guy. (moment of sympathy for Boki) Okay, I'm done. Boki's got a guaranteed contract. He's not going anywhere shortly and will likely get his chance to prove himself. If the guy has skills, he will stay in the NBA. No offense, Grega; I want your brother to succeed too, and I don't mean to make light of his very understandable frustrations. But in the long scheme of things, he's fine.
too early to tell Yao could start getting more minutes and could start building up his stats - esp. since Cato's been having nagging injuries
I cant belive you guys... You dont know yet? Ming will make the REAL allstar team. His name is on the ballot. Along with Mobley KT and of course Francis. Dont reply and say he wont. I dont think he deserves it, unless he really picks it up. But there are a whole lot of Chinese people that dont care. Go look at NBA.com you see the Chinese letters. That means they will vote also.
