PG Conley SG Mayo SF Gay PF Randolph/Warrick C Gasol/Thabeet I think they will. There's a lot of Zach Randolph hate going on, and I've never really understood it.

It really depends on Conley and Gay.. I think Conley can emerge as a starting PG Gay needs to improve his decision making and defense
I don't know how you can't understand the Zach Randolph hate. That's just insane to me. So what he's averaged 20 and 10 on terrible teams. He plays no defense. He's an offensive black hole. And he's a legendary team cancer. Oh, and he also has a history of getting in trouble with the law. But you don't understand why the hate.
Memphis and playoffs in the same sentence?! No way. Even the Rockets without a healthy Yao and T-Mac will be better than Memphis. 22 wins two seasons in a row, and then 24 last season. Maybe they can increase their win total by 2 this season. And at that pace, give it another 13 seasons before they think about contending. No the Grizzlies will not sniff the playoffs this year, let alone make them.
Really? He doesn't like to practice, doesn't play any defense, refuses to pass the ball, and has been referred to as a polarizing figure or cancer every place he has played. And he likes to get arrested
No chance. Not even close. The Thunder have a better chance imo but even they are a season or two away.
Maybe...it's a long shot...I mean the stars have to align and even still...they won't win their first playoff game in franchise history.
They are too young, the only guy with experence is Randolph. Actually I think Randolph shoul come off the bench and Gasol should play 4 with Thabeef playing center to get some experience and some confidence. They have no coheiveceness as a unit. They need to get a style established and learn to play together and it takes a year to do that.
On paper it looks better, in win column it will look much much worse, I don't care who gets injured for the Rockets, Scola + 4 8th graders could get more wins than memphis. They have a team of freaking black hole shooters, with not much BBall IQ. So they go out and bring in the Vet Leadership of Mr. Zach Randolph, if they get more wins than last year I will be a little shocked, gl to them getting 20 wins, let alone making the playoffs.
you're right but I think they'll get close to 40 wins, maybe in the mid 30s range. but man thabeet would be dikembe jr, really wish we had him.
Every other year some stupid GM thinks he can take a chance on Randolph and hope that his 20/10 production will take his team to the promised land. Randolph always delivers on his 20/10, and the team involved always craters into the abyss. Randolph is the very definition of the anti-Battier -- the quintessential "all stats no star". At least, in this case it's likely they didn't hire Randolph for his production -- they hired him for his contract (he puts their salary total over the league minimum).
