WILL KNICKS MAKE PLAYOFFS (POST T-MAC TRADE)?? Ok as you guys know a 3 team deal between Rockets, Knicks & Wizards is being discussed. For Houston and New York a move will help push for playoff contention leaving Washinton to pick up the pieces. New York holds a record of 19-32 are in 11th place of the East Conference. So you have to ask yourself would T-Mac give them the push they need to make the playoffs this season and showing his worth. Projected Starting Lineup Post Trade (*If ) PG Chris Duhon - Pure Point SG Tracy McGrady - Able Scorer SF Danilo Gallinari - Spread the Floor by hitting the mid range and three PF Jared Jefferies - Spread the floor & great rebounder C David Lee - Post Threat also can hit the Mid-Range Top Reserve G Nate Robinson G Larry Hughes F Wilson Chandler F Johnathan Bender --- Via Alan Hahn, Newsday (via Twitter) It has been stated that Walsh have been visiting T-Mac in Chicago and seen him play making this trade even more realistic. So I ask you guys with T-Mac going to New York will the Knick make the playoffs??? *Forgive me if I mispelled any words
if that is the remaining pieces and d'antoni shifts his offense a little bit to center around mcgrady then yes i can see them making a late push. they are 5.5 games out of the final spot though they have more road than home games left i think it can be done IF the team is how it is post trade deadline (meaning someone like nate is still on the knicks) at lot will depend on how hard tmac has been working post rockets exile in chicago if he regressed in his workouts then he wont be in shape to play a few games
1. They haven't traded for anybody yet. 2. If they do so, it's not clear who would be going and who would be coming. If Al Harrington goes, while he may or may not (likely) contribute to winning, he is a 30 mpg player, a decent scorer and rebounder, etc. McGrady has barely played at all, when healthy, in now a year and a half. 3. No, they won't make the playoffs. They're the Knicks. They're 5+ games out of the last spot. Despite playing more home games than road games and having more games against western Conference foes left than some of those hotter teams they're chasing (Phialdelphia, Miami, Charlotte). Keep in mind the Knicks are 2-8 in their last 10 games and have lost 3 straight. It's unfortunate, because Utah gets their draft pick this year...unprotected and all!
thats obvious because the knicks will damn sure be eliminated because they'll be matched up against cleveland and lose to the cavs quick. Sweep!!!!
Anything is possible . . . being in the Eastern Conference. All it take is for one team to have a slump and the Knicks to have a good 3 to 6 game streak and they are making a serious challenge for the eight spot. If their roster looks like the one, similar to what the OP listed, that team should be competitive in the East, especially if T-Mac has a little bit left in the tank. D'Antoni might be open to letting T-Mac take 16 to 20 shots a game. #ell, who else is going to do it on the Knicks. T-Mac (if somewhat healthy) is kind of what the Knicks need right now, also if he performs well. He might be offered a good deal to stay with the "new-look" Knicks (with a new FA - Wade, LeBron, Bosh, Amare, or Joe Johnson). I'd like to see T-Mac do well, if he ends up in New York or anywhere else.
The funny thing is, if McGrady does play for the Knicks, Rockets fans will root for him more than they do when he was in Houston, because of the Jazz pick.
And I think it'd be even cooler to know that the jazz have exactly 0 chances to get John Wall (or anyone else in the lotto).
