Jalen Green’s poor performance in the playoffs has likely caused the management to lose all confidence in him. As a fourth-year player, although he scored 38 points in a playoff game during his first postseason appearance, he revealed more critical flaws—exposing a low basketball IQ, shaky ball-handling fundamentals, an aversion to physical contact, a shot too reliant on touch, and an inability to steady the game in crucial moments. This has made it clear to both the management and fans that four years of development and experimentation with him have failed. Going forward, the management’s key task will be figuring out how to use Green in a trade to upgrade the team’s backcourt.

Depends on how wasted he gets during our Championship Parade through downtown.

Whose burner account is this? Why ask a question that you answer so definitively? After a win we get these cancerous posts? Come on we’re better than this.

JG's terrible performance makes me doubt if this is even the best trade time. If you approach deals with a "clearing rubbish" mentality, you're setting yourself up for a financial blow—just like the Anderson, CP3, and Russ trades.

lol what? Are you in management for the Rockets? If not, I don't think you can say any of this.

Green, in my opinion, has had one amazing game, one solid game (last night), and three poor games. And this is his first playoff series.

I'm not saying I'm opposed to a trade necessarily - I'm fine trading Green for an upgrade. But your post is incredibly hyperbolic.

Stone took years to trade Eric Gordon. If his hand isn’t forced he doesn’t seem to have a quick trigger

Ban worthy. Should be forced to make a new email to make another burner. I can only imagine how giddy you were to post this thinking you sounded smart. Touch grass and do better with yourself.

Would you trade Jalen Green for Austin Reeves/Dorian Finney Smith if we lose game 6?
Then, we can pick up FVV team option and trade for KD. We'll probably have to trade FVV/Tari/Cam/combination of Suns draft picks for KD...Here's our starting 5 next season:
    Sengun
    KD
    Dillon
    AR15
    Amen
We'll have Reed, Jabari, Dorian Finney Smith, as our main core players coming off the bench...We'll improve our 3 point shooting and add another 3-D wing off the bench.
    Thoughts?

If FO just realized that we need to trade them first

The poll options are very strangely phrased

I think the odds are Jalen stays on the roster. I can see him going out in a Devin Booker trade if those rumors are true; or if some other player the front office views as a significant upgrade surprisingly becomes available (i.e. Maxey or somebody like that). Barring a real, major upgrade, I think they're going to stick with him.

My hope though is that they will at least add a really good bench guard to give Ime some options on nights when Jalen and/or Fred (if he stays) are struggling.

I have a feeling that he'll be here next year.

He's been extended at a reasonable price point. You protect your asset, avoid potential bidding war and roll the dice on the upside. Didn't come into fruition? Give it another go. It's not like we're levitating into contention next year.

He's been serviceable during the regular season. JG helped us win a lot of games. Pulled his weight on securing the 2nd seed.

You can argue this is his first PO series and he needs time.

Worst case scenario, Ime can change his role during the season. Maybe Amen takes the crown, or Alpi starts making shots at range. Who knows?

This is my opinion on what the organization is thinking based on the ESPN article. They see value on rolling the dice on multiple fronts. It's not the worst business decision. I like it. They can pivot anytime.

If I'm the GM, backcourt is getting immediate upgrade. Either Fred or Jalen moves.

Did AR15 not disappear this playoffs? I can deal with trading Jalen but trades like this make me want to lose my mind

While I am probably higher than a lot of people on this version of the Rockets, I think the roster needs to be reshaped as not everyone fits.

I worry about Sengun and Amen pairing long term. I favor Amen, but unless an MVP candidate is involved, I'd give these guys a couple more years together before deciding on one or both of those guys.

On Green, I think he needs an open environment to see if he can reach his potential offensively. I don't see Amen or Sengun fitting what I think he needs to see the best version of Green. Also, I think Amen as a guard will need a better shooter at the other guard.

I don't see the benefit in getting rid of FVV in the short term. Anyone that watches the games should see the offense is rough with Amen and Green as the backcourt, and completely falls apart when FVV and one of those guys are out of the game. The offense isn't Top 5 with those 3 as the guard rotation, but it is easily putrid without 2 of those guys relative to when FVV is in the game (which still isn't a top 5 offense).

I think Brooks, Eason, and JSJ will fit with whoever is added and removed.

The Rockets offense needs an engine. Maybe Amen or Sengun can be it if they improve their shooting. Right now, it is rough anytime a team sags of 1 or both of them this series.

People here don't watch the players they want to trade for, so the player is more a fantasy version of themselves with no low-lights, no turnovers, no bad games, etc. They just see the counting stats and imagine that in place of JG's flaws. Hate watching Jalen and not-watching other players makes them unable to see it as anything other than an upgrade.

AR15 scoring average (16pts) is more than Jalen Green (14pts) in the playoffs. We can get out of Jalen's contract to get 2 quality players and then move FVV to get a closer in KD, while keeping intact our young core who we should be building around in Sengun & Amen.

Regardless if we're on the trade Jalen or keep Jalen, or undecided camp--I think we can all agree that this post (and thread) is pretty dumb. We have plenty of threads on all of these topics already, and your two poll options don't even make grammatical sense.

"Yes but Rocket paid high price to trade JG to upgrade backcourt."

Either my brain is broken, or your language is.

Maxey is hardly ever mentioned. He would be a reasonable target if Morey gets fired. Morey is not inclined to trade for draft picks. If they get a new GM, I absolutely make a call to the next GM about what it would take.
