    .. the p*rn industry?

    Kidding.

But seriously, looks like the Blazers have given up on him. Does he have any future in the NBA? Can you imagine the Rockets taking a chance on him? Will he ever get healthy? This guy can really play when he is physically able to play the game of basketball... a career wasted by bad luck (for being so fragile).

If you check the few games he did play, those aren't bad stats. Those are very serviceable numbers.

I was under the impression that the Blazers were planning to retain Oden. They just didn't extend his contract because they wanted to see how his rehab was going by next summer.

Didn't the GM make a comment about how they weren't going to resign him?

No. The Blazers didn't extend Oden. But Oden is still a Restricted FA. POR can match any offer...if there is one. Further, if there is a lockout, POR may have additional time to watch Oden's recovery before making an offer.

They've basically made a good business decision without being offensive.

The guy is more injured than Sam Bowie. It isn't bad luck. It's just being too big. Many 7 fters have injury issues, unless they are skinny(Gasol/Duncan/Garnett) or built like a tank(Shaq) or have unusually large feet to spread the physical stress(Shaq size 23).

Greg Oden has a beautiful penis. If I was him, I would go into the p*rn industry.

They still have to make him a qualifying offer to make him a restricted free agent. In Oden's case, that amounts to about 9 million. I'm not sure they're going to take a 9 million dollar flier on the chance that Oden miraculously gets healthier. I think Oden is done in Portland. I'm curious if he can get a multi-year MLE (even 2) at this point.

Kelly Dwyer covered this in Ball Don't Lie a few weeks ago. It paints a pretty bleak picture of Portland's future.

    Do you want him to?

When you watch p*rn, do you tend to think, "Man, there needs to be more Greg Oden in this"?

not to mention the guy is only 22 years old, so he can hopefully work himself back in shape.

I agree. I can forsee him having a good career as a contributing big man off the bench.

He probably will end up in Miami after this season. If he somehow stays healthy he might me a nice steal for someone but very doubtful.

Phoenix would be a good fit for him, provided ownership doesn't blow the team up and trade Nash. Their trainers seem to work wonders with every broken down player who comes to Phoenix. I never thought to see Grant Hill play a full season as a legit player, let alone three in a row. Oden could feast off Nash passes for A'mare like dunks.

I don't want to watch p*rn with Greg Oden in it. He'd block half the screen.

It's not very often that I crack up outloud while reading posts. This is one of those times, though.
