I highly doubt it. What special features do u need? The whole video is basically behind the scenes stuff. The only thing I would like to see is to actually show the game itself. Plus they filmed this stuff almost 10 years ago where DVD was barley introduced in 1997ish.
Indeed... but then why did I just spend around $100 for the Indiana Jones and Godfather trilogies on DVD... weren't they filmed in the 70's and 80's? I think games preserved on DVD is an AWESOME idea... but both NBC and the NBA would have to sign off on the deal, hence I don't think it will ever get done.
i guess here can be an example= 94 video bonus features: the music video at the end the the vhs version, 4th quarter of game 7 vs knicks, banner night of midwest crown, top plays of that year (the maxwell buzzer beaters, etc) dreams "unbeatable" 80s video lol where are they now? segment banner night and ring cermony
actually many of the older movies when they are brought to dvd they are restored properly and look much better than they have ever did. I would wish the same thing if these videos made it to dvd. I saw these tapes again a 2 weeks ago (my monthly viewing) and they can be restored if from the original film and can be packed with extras. of course it wont look as good as the spurs' dvd from last year but it would be loads better than the current tapes.
DVD would be cool on the clutch videos...... Personally I would like to see the entire playoff runs for both 94 & 95 on DVD. Now that would be something worth spending my money on.....are you listening Rockets???? Getting goose bumps just thinking about it....aah good times indeed. GO ROCKETS!
More bonus features (for DVD's having the games on them): Different audio tracks while you're watching the games - 1.) Player's commentary as the game is going on (imagine Hakeem saying, "I really wanted to dunk on Shaq there... unbeatable!"...Kenny Smith saying, "I had no idea how I got open for that shot in game 1.") 2.) Listen to gene peterson and the radio call instead of the tv announcers. (they HAVE to have archives of these) 3.) Just the ability to turn OFF the voices on TV, and listen to the game as if you were in the arena. Video segments - 1.) Post-game press conferences 2.) Behind the scenes footage NOT USED in clutch city or double clutch. (they probably used the best stuff anyways) 3.) ESPN Sportscenter recaps 4.) local news coverage of post-championship celebrations on richmond, downtown parade. 5.) Championship rally at Astrodome. Man... this idea is getting better and better...
Man did i love that rally at the astrodome. it was so much fun. not to mention all the other stuff you said....i also got my first speeding ticket after the rally lol
Sorry but one more thing....how about the line of people trying to buy all the second championship tshirts and hats at Oshmans that night....so much fun.
This thread is a weird coincidence, because I was just about to start converting my VHS tapes of Clutch City and Double Clutch to DVD myself, since the NBA refuses to. (If it's more than two years old and doesn't involve Jordan, the NBA pretends it doesn't exist.) As I understand it, I can back up my tapes under copyright law. I'd hate to lose them, esp. since you can't buy them any more.
