Last year's east team had AI starting with Jameer and Mo Williams as reserves.

AI isn't playing and Memphis doesn't give him the ball.
Jennings is better than Jameer and Mo already.

I can see him being challenged by Derrick Rose and Arenas(back from injury).

I am a little in shock that he is that good.

    55 points is amazing.

He's good, but isn't going to be nearly famous enough with the masses. Rondo and Rose are probably going to cream him in the voting.

Reserve for sure, though, and he's a lock for ROY if he keeps his shot falling.

He's going to blister nearly every point in the league.

Remember the ASG is basically a popularity contest when it comes to voting. I'm not saying Jennings cant or wont make it but I wouldnt be surprised if he didnt.

Wade has the other guard spots locked up.

If Vince Carter listed as a guard? He may gain back some of that fan voting with the guard spot not being as competitive as it used to be.

jennings has a bigger following than people think. he has a base already from his high school years. if he keeps this up, he'll gain the general fans (he is a very exciting player-AI-ish in terms of style) and i won't be surprised if he does.

wade has the other spot locked up easily. but i believe jennings will be a starter next year with ease. a lot of people will be introduced to mr. jennings real soon, if not already.

he's a once in a decade type of player.

jennings is will most likely put up around 20-21 and 5 this year (he's at 26 and 5 right now) AT THE AGE OF 20. and he's turning around the freakin' bucks (5-2).

from a skillset standpoint, i think he is. can he keep it up and can he fully fulfill his potential? i don't know. if he does, he'll be up there real soon. it's all up to jennings and where he wants to be among the NBA's best.

He would have to beat out all guards, not just shooting guards, so probably not. I don't see him getting more votes than Wade, Carter, Allen, Rose, Rondo, etc.

Arenas will probably start, but I can see Jenning being a reserve.

Ok, first of all. Yes if that happens I agree.

But it is still way too premature.

One thing we can all agree on is that his performance is a sure sign that he will be great in this league with years to come.

popularity is made in the playoffs. Rose is hugely popular because of that epic series against the celtics. Rose will be the starter imo. He is already amongst the leagues most popular. The man barely speaks english and is intellectually outmatched by blue collar comedy guys, but all that national attention has him pegged as a superstar of the future.

The super fast scoring point gaurd role is super saturated in the NBA these days, if he wants to become a super star and not just a good player on a ****ty team (granger/martin etc) then he is going to have to get national attention in the playoffs

u do know mcgrady started in the all-star game in his first year in orlando right? there are 2 months left for jennings to impress the world. if he puts on more showings like the last 2, he'll start.

dude is a much more exciting player than rose b/c he can score with such ease.

Popularity is also achieved through the dunk competition. The Carter-Tmac-francis was arguably the best ever.

Here is how the East All-Star team will stack up in the PG position:

    Gilbert Arenas - Starting
    Jameer Nelson - Reserve
    Derrick Rose - Reserve

Brandon Jennings is a rookie and also doesn't get the attention that the other guys do. He's on the Bucks, and just that in itself pretty much gets him no spotlight at all.

Have to be voted the starter, they cant just name a player the starter. Rembember the Michael Jordan/Vince Carter thing Jordan's last year.

For rookies and 2nd year players, I think their best chance for the All Star team is be voted a starter or close to it. Like Kobe, Garnett, Yao. I think with the Rookie/Soph game they get slighted even more cuz they can still have an appearance in All Star weekend whether they're on the All Star team or not.

DERON WILLIAMS has never been an All Star. Easier path in the East cuz with Chris Paul, Steve Nash, Tony Parker and Deron Williams in the West its hard for an up-and-comer to crack through that.
