I'm going to look to see if there are active roster lists anywhere. There is this piece of info though: Rosters are 15 deep and you can activate 12. That's 15-12=3. There are 3 injured Rockets right now. Unless Bonzi is unwilling or the coach is unwilling, he's our only option. My guess: If Bonzi can play at all, he'll be on the roster tonight. Another guess: He won't see the court unless he's really ready. Last time he played he looked great on rebounds, but he gave away the ball like santa giving out presents on christmas and all the kids were having a good year and santa had extra presents in his sleigh and just felt really give-y and he wanted to give everybody everything they wished for. You know what I mean?
if battier and tracy play the sf, then the sg minutes would go to either head, vspan,or wells and frankly Id rather have head or vspan over wells.
don grahamleone and timwalters are doing a great job of analyzing the situation. with hayes, snyder, and sura on the IL everyone else should be active. however, just because bonzi is active doesn't mean he'll play. now if you look at how our rotation works we are missing a backup SF. rafer, tmac, and shane play roughly 36 MPG each, leaving only 12MPG each for a sub. luther is already seeing close to 24 MPG backing up the 1 and 2. there are 12 minutes left for a SF. the question is, do we see novak or bonzi?
Depth Chart: Yao - Deke - (Howard) Howard - (Battier) - Padgett - Novak Battier - (McGrady) - (Padgett) - (Novak) McGrady - Head - Bonzi - (V.Span) Alston - (Head) - Lucas - V.Span Against the Wiz, we're primarily going to see: Arenas - (Daniels) Stevenson - Daniels - (Arenas) Butler - Jarvis Hayes Jamison Thomas - Haywood Battier could see time against Jamison since he's a tweener and far too athletic for Howard. The 2 spot is not going to be a size issue since Gilbert's 6-4 and doesn't look to post often. This matchup may lead to our starting Head at the 2 and Battier at the 4. If Bonzi's in any way struggling with his on-court conditioning, I don't see JVG sicing him on someone like Arenas. He'd get blown by on D badly. Evan
good analysis. i forgot who we were playing tonight. my guess now is that shane will see minutes at the 4 and tmac at the 3, as you pointed out. this will (for tonight) open up minutes at the 2, not the 3. my bet is more teen wolf tonight!
I dont think it's a good idea playing Arenas with Head.. I would like to see Span get some playing time JUST to stop Arenas... Arenas is gonna give us a hard today...
