Or is this much ado about nothing?

Did anyone else CRINGE when they heard Ron say Roy was the toughest player he’s ever guarded and that he’s the only guy to ever drop 40 on him?

Artest, I love you (no homo) and I'm beside myself that we won last night, but man…..did you have to say that? As if Kobe needs any more motivation…

ron clarified by saying no one has ever put up that many points on him, so the guy that put up the high score against his defense would be the best offensive player he's played against.

at least on that one night.

i hope (and would bet) that kobe can't wait to drop 50 on him. i want kobe to try to do it all by himself on offense. selfish kobe is much better for the rockets than balanced laker attack.

I was thinking the same thing.. Lets hope the whole team responds to the added pressure.

Kobe lives his life off of stuff like that.
You know Kobe is going to try and drop 50 on him at least one game. Just to give his fake arrogant half smile after the game... And his fake team effort speech while he is really thinking that he is God..
No doubt great talent but complete d.....bag.

Kobe never suffers from lack of motivation. Much ado about nothing.

It will fun to watch the matchup:

The Black Mamba vs. The Mongoose. You know what the Mongoose can do to a snake.

He wants kobe to do it all himself. He's trying to get into his head already. If Kobe plays selfishly then we have a chance.

I am sure the media will make a big deal out of this issue.

The only chance we have is if Kobe tries to take over and ignores his teamates.

Sager got what he wanted out of the question.

Roy gets to the basket as well as Kobe, and in the series he was shooting great.

Roy was a great warmup for Kobe and Co. Only problem we have is that the Lakers actually have depth.

I'm really worried about Lamar Odom dropping 20 on us every game.

Media will grab this little yummy bear. We'll see a ton on interviews in the next three days that will try escalate this between the two players.

agreed. if kobe tries to win the game one on five, i like our chances... as long as ron ron doesn't try to do the same!

At the Game 6 postgame press conference, a reporter tried to get Artest to say something about Kobe, but Artest smartly steered clear of it. Ron's actually good at dodging questions when he wants to.

When Kobe score big, the Lakers usually lose.

Good analogy; that's exactly what Artest is in this case.

    Battier is what?

Kobe is a great player. Right now, He and Lebron are the 2 best players in the league, way above everyone else. He doesn't need outside motivation in a 2nd round, he's only goal is clearly to win it all without Shaq.

If you are worrying that Kobe might take Ron's comment into heart, that would only be in our benefit. Kobe at the most dangerous mode, is getting his teammates involved early, and then killing you at the fourth. If he takes it personally, getting to Ron one on one from the tip off, we have a chance, even if Kobe scores 40 points.

Kobe is Kobe, he's supposed to play great in playoffs. My biggest worry for the Lakers series is LO. When that guy goes off with scoring/rebounding/assisting, and some defense, we are in serious trouble. The more beef Kobe has with Ron, the more he wants to shut Ron up, the better for the Rockets.
