haha. No to Yao. Yao will never be MVP.

Someone else in the future might be. Bosh perhaps. We can dream

lebron is going to win the next 5 MVPs at least so it's not going to happen anytime soon.

Assuming he stays healthy with his body breaking play style.

The best we can hope for is Finals MVP. I don't think anyone on the roster has that game swinging dominance, though Yao's 10 out of 10 against the Lakers last year was pretty awesome.

if Morey "dangles himself" to lure Lebron James in some how then yeah. But its highly unlikely we have an MVP any time soon.

I say Yao would be considered in the MVP race:

    1. He plays like he did in the Portland series on a consistent basis.
    2. The Rockets win the division
    3. He doesn't get hurt.

He'll be considered, but it'll be tough because of Lebron, Dwight Howard, Kobe, Durant.

Kobe's MVP days are gone. It's going to be LeBron for a while. Maybe Durant.

Forgot what year it was, but if Yao kept playing the way he did the rest of the season, he had a chance. But he broke his leg in mid December.

I think Morey will grab GMOTY, probably a couple of times, and Adelmand COTY.

As for Yao MVP? I think his window has closed.

Right now, as long as Durant and Lebron are in this league, its going to be complicated.

Maybe Hakeem Jr in a couple of years..

When you get a chance, go check the rockets record when yao was putting up those numbers minus tracy. They were heading to lotto land with yao and his monster numbers. I'm just saying.

If we have THAT Yao and THIS group of Rockets and some helps (from drafts or trades), we will be as good as the Lakers and Yao should have good chance to compete for MVP with Lebron and Kobe.
