Last year Motumbo-Iverson duo sparked at all-star game and weeks later 76ers traded McClouch for Motumbo. I don't remember whether Larry Brown was the Eastern coach... anyway 76ers found that Motumbo's D was perfect for Iverson then initiated the trade. Result? They made their to the Finals. Rudy gets almost no chance to coach the western team this year. But CD and he probaly will keep an eye on the all star game to see which guard(PG or SG) would work better with YaoMing. Nash, Payton, Kobe, Biby... then throw out a big trade... Whatever.... I'm quite happy with the Franchise-Dynasty duo.
there is no trade happening, and for sure not one including Francis. why would the rockets give up on francis now? please think about the situation at hand before putting out bogus scenarios.
The 76ers traded Mutumbo for MacCulloch, not the other way around. If the Iverson-Mutombo tandem was effective, it was because they were already teammates. They traded Dikembe and some change for Todd and Keith Van Horn. It had nothing to do with the all star game.
I'm sorry, I must have misunderstood you. I thought you were talking about last year's all star game. Mutombo was traded by Atlanta with Roshown McLeod to Philadelphia for Theo Ratliff, Toni Kukoc, Nazr Mohammed and Juan "Pepe" Sanchez on 2/22/01, which was right after the all star game 2 years ago.
