Right now I only have bought Gunstar Heroes which is fun to me since I used to play it when I was younger. But I have a modchip in my Wii, so I can run emulators and roms, defeating the need to buy the VC games.
The only thing I have spent points/money on is the Internet Channel and Super Mario Bros. 3. Both are great!
I've downloaded: Mario 3 Super Mario World Mariokart 64 original Zelda Tecmo Bowl Double Dribble Punchout Sim City Super Street Fighter: The New Challengers The only one I regret is Sim City, simply because I can't figure out how to put in the "funds" cheat - a must in order to really have fun with the game, IMO. Badly wish they'd put out some of the classic Maddens and NBA Lives. Evan
Zelda 1, Zelda 2, Kirby's Adventure, Bubble Bobble These are all games I already knew and loved, from NES. I bought that really slick looking Classic Controller, but I haven't really had a use for it yet, since I don't have any SNES games. Logically I'd get Zelda 3 on SNES, but I'm a bit Zelda'd out right now. As far as Street Fighter, I can just play part 3 on my Dreamcast, superior game.
Mario Kart 64 StarFox 64 Legend Of Zelda - Ocarina of Time Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past Kid Icarus
I got some guy to do it. Turned out very well. Nope, that's a personal choice. I was just saying that I modded my Wii and as a result I haven't had to download the VC games
I got Super Mario Bros 3, Super Mario World, Super Mario 64, Contra III, Ninja Gaiden, Donkey Country 1-3 and Super Street Fighter II I'm waiting on Yoshi's Island, Super Mario Kart (always felt it was the best), Contra, the Super Star Wars games (like that will ever happen, but one can wish!) among others.
If you accidentally upgrade the firmware, it will crash the Wii. I think, some newer games won't work and those games might require a firmware update before you can play. I haven't read much on it, but I definitely wouldn't do it if you want to play future games.
Actually, that's wrong. As long as you play the NTSC or US versions of the game, you will be fine. No firmware update will crash the Wii. I have the latest firmware on mine, and it runs perfectly. And as far as future games, they release new firmware for the chips if there is an issue with newer games. They have also started hacking the Wii and homebrew is definitely going to be here very very soon. I've been playing the Japanese version of Brawl for a little while now
All of this talk of modding aside, thanks for the input. Keep it coming. Anyone else notice that Punch-Out isn't with Mike Tyson any more? So much for Nintendo presenting unedited versions of their games.
Nintendo seems to have made the obvious business decision to focus on selling virtual games with minimal licensing involvements (royalties). Evan
well it is an easy way to gain revenue with large profit margin and there is certainly a market for the older games. I hope they put out WCW vs NWO world tour...we played that game so much in high school. Freaking awesome wrestling game!
