With all of this Smash Bros talk, Mario Kart is getting overlooked. It's release date is May 1, less than two months from now! This series of games is hands down my favorite of all time. This one looks great, with online play and three different control schemes- Gamecube controller, Wiimote/nunchuck, and steering wheel attachment. It doesn't look or seem any different than Double Dash, minus the two people on a cart... I really liked the first one on SNES...didn't care for the 64 one, and loved the gamecube. The Mario Kart franchise is the Spurs of the video game world...can't get two good ones in a row.
I also loved the SNES version and never cared for the N64...is the gamecube version worth picking up for the Wii before the new one comes out? I never found anyone as good as me in the SNES one...I took it to college years ago and my roommates would lose 50 before they could get a victory and then act like they were the king of the world for pullint that one off....good times
Yeah, Double Dash is awesome. Really fun level design and I like the dual rider aspect. Really tight controls too.
Really? I thought the 64 version was garbage...Double Dash seemed really "fresh" to me compared to that...seemed like they had taken a step forward in the series.
Yeah, I was fine with it. But most of the time when I see these discussion - while people don't think it was 'bad' - it comes up as one of the least favorites. In any case, I'm looking forward to playing the Wii version.
the game comes with it, buddy. it's just really a plastic wheel "attachment" that you slide the wii-mote into (similar to guitar hero). it seems fairly high quality from the pictures I've seen.
It's just one wheel though, right? This is one of those buddy games, so you got to buy a few extra wheels, or they can always bring theirs. I liked the NINTENDO SIXTY FOOOOOOOOOOUR version of Mario Kart.
The wheel is just for novelty i guess. I'm pretty sure you can use the WiiMote and nunchuck or a GC Controller.
As stated in the first post, you can either use a: Wheel attachment or Wimote/Nunchuck or Gamecube controller From what I've read, using the wheel is for 'experts' and you can pull off some special tricks with it.
I loved the N64 version, not sure why so many of you disliked it. The Snes one was awesome too. Never played a Game Cube.
If the online play is anything like Smash Bros. Brawl, I won't be buying this game. It's the make or break aspect for me.
It -looks- much better- check out the preview vid in RCCola's April video game thread. It even installs a Mario Kart channel. I'll buy it regardless. It's my all-time favorite console series.
