Even if you're a republican. Because Bush is a dangerous idiot. One who has lead us into a useless war and is destroying our country - how? 1. Our international standing is at it's lowest point. Both Iran and N. Korea are able to stick a middle finger at us and do what they will without fear of reprissal. They know the world is tired of a war-mongering Bush. 2. The world is tired of us. They rate the U.S. the greatest threat to stability. The opinion of our country is at the lowest in our history. 3. Our country is more divided then ever. On abortion, on race, and politically. Democrats and Republicans sound like two different countries. We now talk of red and blue states, not the United states. Most importantly: Bush needs to be checked. He's dangerous...and had done enough harm. He's always been a terrible CEO, and the more he's around, the more he will run this country backwards. We're becoming more like the Islamic countries instead of turning them more like us. Now that's a sign of sheer incompetence. Turn bush into a lame-duck. Getting him there will make a republican president more likely in 2008...but please, Bush unchecked with corrupted power for 2 more years......the country wants change. So giddy-up, faos, basso - do the the right thing - if you care about the Republican party, realize Bush is your enemy.
But if I vote democrat, the terrorists win. Don't they? I mean, as long as I do what the president tells me, then the terrorists can't hurt us right? If I vote democrat there will be terrorist attacks here every day. The dems will release Saddam Hussein who go back to Iraq and kill us all with his WMD's. If Clinton hadn't messed up his presidency so much by getting a BJ from a fat intern then we never would be in this mess with Al Queda and Iraq and N. Korea wouldn't be testing nuclear weapons. I mean, I have to vote republican or the antichrist will rise up from the democratic party and enslave us all. I know this to be true because that's what the president, Fox news, and my neighbor Tom DeLay said. They can't all be wrong, can they?
why you should vote libertarian on Nov 7th: 1.
Time to be fair and balanced. We've heard from the democrats, the libetarians. Thanks for saving me the time of reading the rest of your post. You lack any credibility based on this part.
Oh, and I'd like to profusely thank Rule for getting "Sugar Sugar" stuck in my head for the rest of the night. Thanks so much.
Nice way to find the sliver lining of a dark cloud. By the way, I'm an independent. Or as Karl Rove would say - I don't exist. Let's review your facts.... While inflation continues to be low - real income has actually declined by $3,000 for working class families since 2000. So yeah, nice to keep inflation low... let's not forget that a nice chunck of 150,000 troops are employed as soldiers. Any one need a job can certainly get one now but let's also mention that it's awfully tough to fill those open for hires with the paltry education system we have. Hey, I've done well in the last few years - I have my own office, a sweet pad in nyc, and Bush has cut my taxes. Guess what I bought with the taxes refund this year? A nice 42 inch Plaza hi-def TV. Thanks Bush for that. Too bad for those working class families who make $3000 less a year though, guess they paid for my TV. Thanks working class families. Don't get me wrong - I use to be a republican. But this man has so disgusted me - and as much as I depise liberals and their self-righteous know-it-all attitudes (they are worse then right-wing Christian fanatics in my opinion)....this Bush fellow that's the prize as the worst man in politics ever. This bears repeating. The worst man in politics ever. Let's please limit his power. Please. Be a republican. That's fine. But just this election - vote for anyone but a republican - only then will your party turn on Bush fully and finally we can move on as a country from this diasaster. If anything, let's look at what else he has done: Failed to break-up Al Qaeda Failed to get Bin Laden (he's no had longer then Clinton had) Failed to stop N. Korea Failing to stop Iran Got us into a quagmire in Iraq - a mistake his father avoided and everyone with half a brain (from Baker to his Father) told him to avoid. As a matter of fact, A Saudi friend of Bush Sr. called his dad and said his son was doing really stupid things and he needed to talk to him, Bush Sr said that he was letting Jr do things on his own...and the Saudi politician said, hey - he didn't get elected on his own - he got elected because of you were his father - so now don't let him run the country on his own! Bush has given us Rumsfield and Ashcroft. Bush has given us an incompetant FEMA. Bush has given us a lot of empty rhetoric. The list goes on an on and on...from the worst education program ever conceived - no child left behind, which effectively actually forces schools to kick out poor performing students to maintian funding - literally leaving children behind in a twisted and sick irony... How much more do I have tolerate this. How can anyone defend him? I just don't understand it. I really don't. HOw does anyone in sane mind defend this moron???? He's an absolute incompetent clutz. Let's the ex-coke addict and alchy go back on the bottle. He's an embarassment of a president. He's the laughing stock of the world. And 60-some % of this country knows it. Why stick up for such a loser? He's lost all his life, and now he's losing for the whole world. Can't we swap him for his father? Anyone? I'd put Basso in office ahead of this guy.
Anytime. Glad you didn't read it. Would hate to expose you to my ideas. Reading might be fundamental, but clearly education isn't a Bush priority anyway.
I understand what your'e saying about the working class, and will consider it...as i vote straight ticket I can't vote for a democratic party that will raise the capital gains tax and regulate businesses. I can't vote for a democratic party that sees price controls on prescription drugs as a positive. I believe the minimum wage should be abolished, not raised. I don't mind pro-business democrats, but the 3rd most powerful person in the United States cannot be Nancy Pelosi. By the way, I found two hilarious quotes by Pelosi. Quote 1) "The president led us into the Iraq war on the basis of unproven assertions without evidence; he embraced a radical doctrine of pre-emptive war unprecedented in our history; and he failed to build a true international coalition. " -Nancy Quote 2)"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection" -Nancy Which is it?
Look, nobody liked Saddam and we're entirely unhappy to see him go. But that doesn't mean you actually go in there and take him out. Now that's the core difference - and Bush isn't even claiming to have gone in for the WMD reason anyway, his rhetoric changes quaterly - and rhetoric on both sides is just that: rhetoric. We both are smart enough to know that. I don't know if the dems will raise the capital gains tax. I really think that has stimulated investment and such...but cutting taxes on the wealthy during a war isn't right either, and that needs to be undone. People like me live comfortably enough where my tax bracket was fine before...lowering it is was just pure bonanza. Granted, I live in a very expensive city, but I really feel for people who struggle to make ends meet and can't even afford health insurance where I have the luxury to go in and get CAT scans done for bone chips or go tophysical therapy for shin splints. There needs to be SOME balance in health care. I'm not saying everyone gets the same level - but people shouldn't have to die because they are working class while others live because we are not. As for the minimum wage, probably the only employer it would affect is walmart. Can you even find a job that pays less then $7 and hour? Even Micky D's pays more. It's more symbolic then anything - a populist cause. Look it's all about balance. With a republican president who can veto a congress that doesn't tip too heavily democrat - there will at least be compromise. Things will get done to suit both halves of the country - not just one. Just think, all of the democrats have been disenfranchised from feeling political power for many years. Do you think it's healty for our nation for such a big chunk to feel they are completely swept out of government? The right has been able to proceed virtually unchecked. If democrats controlled all of the federal government, I'd tell you to vote republican. But this time, it's democratic....because balance means the middle wins. And you seem like a moderate. So am I. Let's force moderation.
New Yorker, I also am an independent and share your revulsion with Bush and the congressional Republicans. They must be punished severely and sent a message. I voted early yesterday and split my votes as usual. The only reason congressional Dems are the better alternative right now is because of the complete cesspool the GOP has made of congress. Up until 1994, I didn't think it was possible to be more corrupt than the Dem leadership. How wrong can a person be?
Nothing can so alienate a voter from the political system as backing a winning candidate. - Mark B. Cohen
This pretty much encapsulates the entire Democratic Platform: Complain Whine Point Fingers Offer no solutions Since when is this a strategy for running a country?
I agree with you on divided goverment. A democratic controlled house and a republican controlled senate would be dandy. I would like to mention I'm only a facsit right-wing dictator on economic issues. I'm somewhat moderate(I didn't want to say liberal) on social issues.
