Reasons why Yao setting screens = waste of time

    1) His screens are too far away from his teammate and the defender just squeezes between him and the teammate

    2) His screens are too weak and he doesn't stand his ground very well without getting pushed out of the way

    3) He should be getting low-post position and not wasting energy by following the guards around

    4) He rarely ever gets the ball back on a pick and roll

    5) He's out of position to get a rebound

    6) The rest of the team sucks FG% -wise

    7) The #1 scoring option should never set screens for other players unless he's just bored. Screens should be set for him.

Ask Fisher if Yao's screens are weak.

    you're going to get blasted.

he leveled fisher with a screen tonight. fisher is a small guy, but it was like he ran into a wall.

yao's screen a solid. how can you say they are weak.

also, the screen and roll has been pretty effective, especially against the lakers and also when yao is doubled off the ball.

the rest of the team's fg% sucks? i'm with you there... but they still need to take shots.

also, notice how 5 guys are always trying to keep yao off the offensive board. i don't think the screen and roll is keeping him from getting that many offensive rebounds.

also, they don't run it THAT often.

I disagree wholeheartedly. The only reason why Fisher was leveled was because he was blind-sided. When the defender sees the Yao-screen, they don't give it a second thought and just push through it or between it.

I meant I stopped watching the box scores. Besides, who's really gonna miss out on Yao vs Shaq 5 when it's on national tv?

Wow, alert the forum police! How about sticking to the topic instead of trying to be Sherlock Holmes wannabes. Apparently I had some good points that you can't disagree with because that was the best you could do to try to "get" me. LOL.

but maybe me and silent fan are the same person.

just like someone who got exposed lately by signing their normal name under their alternate account? who was that i thought that was funny. and then SJC signed a post DD. that was funny. i thought about saying if they added their post numbers they'd be number 1.

Actually i'm quite flattered a somewhat long-time member of this board and almost 7000 posts poster in Codell follows me around on this forum trying to find things to nit-pick about. It goes to show I have made a pretty big impact on this board. If he at least had something constructive to say pertaining to the topics each time he does it, it would at least veil his true intentions, rofl.
