Why Yao is so poorly officiated?

I have NEVER seen a NBA player being officiated sooooo badly. I believe the reason doesn't lie in his race. Yao can't get equal treatment cause he never get mad about unfair calls. Well, he sometimes complained but that only showed his frustration and brought no pressure to the referees. Think about Shaq, if he doesn't get the calls he deserves, he may kill the next guy attacking the rim. OK, Yao is not that kind of person. But at least he should show anger to referees. He can just follow Duncan's way, staring at the referee with rage in eyes (that is easy, isn't it?).

    Yao, show you anger!!!

Your ignorance of NBA is beyond me. "Show your anger"? Do you know from this season there is a new "zero tolerance" policy? If you don't want Yao to get a T or even ejected, please shut up.

if it is true what you're saying...maybe the refs arent afraid to give out fouls cos of his docile nature...i mean...a ref would be intimidated to give out fouls to an aggressive player...like you said shaq...and dont encourage yao to grow violent or else we'll get pounded with technicals...

Well, there are different ways to show your anger. I guess Yao will not get a tech if he stares at the referee as Duncan did. :)

BTW, calling somebody else ignorance actually shows your own ignorance. And thanks for showing that to us. :D

Actually, if Yao follows Shaq's way, which I think is hard for a gentleman like Yao, or Duncan's way, Yao reduces the chance to get tech.

    1. goliath syndrome, refs expect yao who is so tall to not get bothered by a 6'8 center touching his arm

    2. he's chinese, refs dont want to show up american players, some of you will disagree with this, but I believe in conspiracies

    3. he's a Houston Rocket. refs have never liked Houston, Hakeem was hacked like Yao with no calls, if he was in NY or LA yao would be putting up wilt like numbers and the examples 1) and 2) would no longer be relevant since he would be in a huge and popular market

    4. stern wants parady. he even admitted he wanted to raise the baskets since the big guys were dominating the NBA, he and the refs dont want Yao to humiliate and take over the smaller guys, shaq does because he has always been in a popular market, and is so freakin strong fouls dont bother him...refs expect yao to act like shaq and not be bothered by hacks

    C.HAYES the MVP in Rockets:
    http://www.nba.com/news/Lenovo_Breakdown_061114.html

if O'NEAL didn't hurt him and Yao, HAYES WAS THERE for Rox, and we could see an other Yao with more 30 points per game, and then Rox won that game. YAO CAN'T be inbeatable without HAYES, he needs someone with him in the battle, so come back early HAYES, rockets needs you, with you and Bonzi, Rox can be unbeatable, and they can beat any team with at least the point that Yao score (average 26pts).
So God bless all the Rockets players, let them all be health to win a championship.

If Rafer or Head had guarded the Spurs the way Bowen guarded Tmac then the two Rockets would have fouled out. Sorry but Bruce & Company had hands all over the place, and Rafer gets called all the time for "touches".

Tmac also gets hammered many times with no calls.

There was also a sliding block I think Duncan pulled on Tmac as he dribbled around the right side - one that typically would result in a call against a Rocket, and of course with Duncan throwing his leg out to block Tmac there was no call. It wasn't even subtle.

    Discouraging to watch.

Yao's Indian name is "fouling while just standing still with hands in the air."

Seriously, there have been 4 calls this year, including the bogus call Babu Ginobli got Tuesday, where Yao is called for a foul while just standing there while the other player runs into him and flops. On the other end, players hack and hang all over Yao and no call. You gotta know VanGundy sends the tapes to the league office, but still no change in the way Yao is officiated.

My take is the "giant syndrom". No blood no foul on the big guys.
