I having a feeling that the reason that Yao didn't win is because most of those dumb*** media people all predicted Yao to be "the next Shawn Bradley" or a stiff and they just didn't wanta admit that they were r****ded for saying that by voting for him as the Rookie of the Year. Yao deserved the award and he was royally screwed.

Actually, I would like to see who voted for Yao and who voted for Amare. I bet Tom Tolbert, a horrible NBA analyst, voted for Amare, cause for sure he was putting Yao down all year long.

I think some people will never and ever face the fact for whatever reason. They call themselves 'experts' but I name them 'nonsense'.

Even Rox get the ring in the future, these brainlessness won't admit they sucked before. I hope Yao and Rox can prove what we really are soon.

Don't worry guys. This might just help to increase Yao's popularity since he was ripped off ROY and has fan's sympathy. He would end up appearing in more commercials and make more fortune. At the end, money counts. Amare could just sit at home looking at the award, but money is just not coming. He is going to fire his agent again.

    Reasons Yao did not win:

    1) Sportscenter
    2) Sportscenter
    3) .. did I mention Sportscenter?
    4) Throngs of writers making Yao out to be a bust, pissed off because Yao made them look foolish, looking to use Amare to spite Yao
    5) Voters using the playoff race to judge an INDIVIDUAL award
    6) It's pretty easy to be a flashy highlight machine when you're the 3rd option under a tandem of all stars that require constant press and double teams

    more to come.

Did I accidentally log onto the "Crying-azz baby" board?

Yao lost because media members in markets all over the country decided that he wasn't the best rookie this year.

There was no gunman on the grassy knoll. The NBA & media had far more to gain if Yao was voted ROY, he is a marketing machine.

Media members aren't the only people that chose Amare over Yao, Tim Duncan,Shaq, & Kobe (to name a few) all chose Amare as their ROY. Obviously the superstars of the NBA didn't select Yao because they are jealous.

It is over, please stop the whining.

The votes for ROY were only from North America.

Well, duh. He probably went the extra mile to call up other voters to encourage them to vote for AS. Tom the Tool really had something against Yao this year. Remember the game-length arguement he had with Walton during the first Yao/Shaq game? They were like a bunch of girls with Tolbert especially being a b**** "See? Yao didn't have many rebounds in the first half. He is the worst center EVER!" (in the voice of the comic book guy)

You should know that the thread about ROY will have a great amount of complaining because people are upset with the result.
If you are so annoying by these posts, may I suggest you to just stay away from the threads instead of whining at people who are whining. :)

A complete season disaster for Houston?

No playoff, no ROY. What less can you expect.

Damn! OK... you got me there. :D

Personally I think it should have be Co-ROY. I just don't know why the big deal is made about it. It means nothing, the ROY, MVP, & Defensive POTY, are all subjective awards that really mean nothing.

If Yao dunked cleanly over Shaq in a previously tied game with .9 sec left in the WC Finals, and gets called for the O-foul, then an uproar is justified.

I guess I just don't understand what the big deal is and I wonder why so many people are so mad about it.

Any Rockets or Suns fan that says the other player didn't deserve it is in denial, and there's way to much denial going on right now in these ROY threads.

It is not denial. It is called bias.
People have their bias including those voters as well.
Personally, I do not mind bias because I have it.
Yao is my ROY, regardless, and I can provide solid reasons to back up my preference.
In the end my preference is not the same as the majority of the voters.

However, I do not feel that it is less solid than theirs.
Many people here might feel the same because we are on the rocket board and we are Yao's fan.

If most of people who complains agree with the vote, they will not be here and complaining.:D

Besides, we have already lost the playoff. Losing the ROY is adding salt to a fresh wound. ;)

Seriously, we need the recount or it might be even better to
design new ballots and let voters vote again.....:(
