Why would Mings touches depend on

Just wondering if anyone else notices this or am I seeing something that is really not there.

Ming will get a few touches in the first quarter, if he makes most shots and appears to have the range that night, his touches will be very few the rest of the game. However if he rims out or misses the first few and it appears he does not have his touch that night, he will continue to get the ball for the entire game.

Rebounds, earlier in the season we would allow Ming to set a pick and roll to the basket and get position and shoot,a lot of his point came off put backs. Now for some reason he sets the pick and the shot goes up before he can get position for the rebound and his put backs and rebounds have been studyly coming down.

Maybe it just in my mind, but keep it in mind when you watch a few games and see if it is not happening.

Your 1st observation is not true. Usually Yao gets a few touches in the 1st quarter, if he shoots well, he will get more touches later in the game. If not, he will get next to none touches the rest of the game.

2nd pt is good. Plus another reason for his low rebounding is that sometimes, he's too busy boxing out and tipping the ball to his teammates, rather than going up strong himself (but maybe that's due to the fact that he's not strong enough yet).

Yao touches (and his game as a whole - for now) is directly dependent on the mood of Stevie Franchise and Cutino Mobley. Remember Yao likes "boring" basketball while Mobley hates it with a passion.

    lol...boring basketball.

That's why we need Glen to pass it to Yao all the time.

No matter how well he's playing, he still goes whole quarters without getting touches on the block. Tonight, it was the 2nd quarter. Thank goodness for Mo tonight.

I thought Mooch is a guy who's willing to pass Yao the ball a lot.
But even he started to look for hiw own shots.

From my observation, if Yao misses his first couple of shots in the 1st quarter, he will be most likely ignored during the rest of the game. But there is one exception
that is when nobody can make a shot in a long stretch of time.
Yao will be remebered and then put in the block.
