Why were mine closed and not finalsbound? My opinions are just as valid. Don't say bandwidth because if this BBS can't take 4 small threads, then it won't be around much longer anyway.

I'm curious. Did jamcracker respond? I'm asking, because I have that troublemaker on my Ignore List.

It's called flooding. If you want to argue the original thread, argue IN the original thread. If you want to make a point by posting another thread, DO IT ONCE. You know that I mostly agree with your political opinions, but posting all those threads one after the other is just pointless and, honestly, if it was done in the Rockets forum, they would've been gone much faster.

I'm the one that closed them, so no one can claim "conservative bias." :)

Jeff,

You should've left one open. Now he has to make another thread if he wants to argue his point.

Personally, I think the opening of different threads was the best way to make his point.

RM95 was basically asserting that equating one man's hypocrisy with that of an entire party was stupid. This was better illustrated by opening several threads, which each demonstrated the narrowness of such an approach. I thought it was pretty funny. And it made a good point. Although I understand how that sort of thing isn't conducive to an orderly BBS.

Still, I think it made finalsbound thread look pretty silly.

If a new member had done that they'd have been called a troll. The CC.net double standard in full effect. Verrrrry nice...

Cute, only rm95's threads were locked.

Double standard?

If a newer member started 4 threads to state an opinion he would get bashed, instead, haven is here trying to give validity to this childishness. If that point is over your head I will try drawing you a diagram.

btw, I still thought that rm95's threads were hilarious (you may have wanted to stop after one or even two though rm95 ;)). Too bad your humor was lost on finalsbound. But what can you say? Those republicans are all secretly atheists that wrap their inhumane fiscal policies in the shroud of a benevolent religion wrapper.

This just in, the republicans are cooperating with major food distributors to make sure that Christ doesn't pull anymore of that free food from wine mumbo jumbo.

Thanks smartass. :)

Perhaps if you want to criticize someone from the community then you should call out that person from the community... i.e. haven in particular. I read 'cc.net' as a criticism of Clutch & Jeff.

BTW, if you can't tell the difference between a troll starting mindless bs posts and rm95 ridiculing finalsbound (perhaps excessively) then we can both present each other diagrams.

For now, I consider your post as random as your insinuation that rockHead's horsey picture/rebecca lobos(sp?) photo was somehow sexist.

These WERE mindless BS posts. At least finalsbound was posting out of some genuine emotion, these posts were calculated nonsense. I'm criticizing the community of posters that have created the double standard here, yourself and maybe myself included.

Ask your wife if she were not so favorably compared to a horse by a gang of men if she'd consider that sexist. Maybe, maybe no... ;)

imo, the same effect could have been had just by posting all these guys in finalsbounds thread. Why litter the hangout when you can just litter his thread?

They are still there for him to see, if he is even interested in his "argument" anymore.

Well, I'd be lying if childishness didn't play a part in what I did, but I did want to make a point about how idiotic that statement was.

Also, the Hangout's been boring for quite a while...I'm trying not to drink as much, and the various threads about favorite drinks ain't helping.

Nice. Don't get too heartbroken on us.

Why are you asking this silly question? You yourself admit it was totally childish. If everyone who got as upset as you did from a post felt the need to create 4 new copycat threads in the span of a minute to make a point, the BBS would be garbage and there would be little in the way of good discussion.

BTW, the threads were closed, not deleted. Big difference. Your point is still made and visible.

Thank goodness Jeff closed them.... had it been Kagy or me then RM95 would be running up and down 6th street screaming bloody murder and Republican conspiracy (which is clearly what he was trying to accomplish with this "Why was the anti-Democrat post allowed and anti-Republican posts closed?" thread)

That's where you're wrong big man...I figured it was Jeff since he's the one doing most of the closing, moving, et al. these days. I said as much to shanna right when it happened. It's really not a silly question either, I think finalsbound post was just as childish as mine.

I was not trying to imply anything by my post, sorry Clutch. It wasn't a Democrat v. Republican thing, it was a idiot v. idiot thing.

Actually,

I would consider it trolling.

You weren't making them to make an arguement, you were doing it in mockery of Finals post.

What I find most amusing, if I recall correctly, most of the people responding claim to be atheist or not Christian. So please, tell me why you were so offended.

*sigh*.

Your question, and the general republican response to finalbounds post (as of my posting), shed too much light on the state of political affairs in our country.

Do I have to be black to be offended by racists?
Do I have to be gay to be offended by homophobes?
Do I have to be a member of religion x to be offended by religion x bashing?
Do I have to be female to be offended by sexism?
Do I have to be republican to be offended by misinformed republican bashing?

homerism is for sports, not politics. Politics and science are supposed to be some sacred place where people actually treat one another with respect and actually converse using reason to convey a point. Grabbing one's crotch and saying "ummmppphhh" doesn't do the discipline much justice.

What finalsbound wrote was a) idiotic and b) harmful for relationships on this bbs. Do you agree? If so, how could you possibly recognize that as a republican?
