I just feel the key is our O: when we can hit, like in Dallas. When we can hit evrything looks easy.

Maybe someone will say: chemistry. or yao's step up. or JVG finally use yao and tmac in right way. or Bob sura or wesley

    what do you think.

and when C ward come back, how to use him I feel a little bit worry.

I feel that JVG is far from fully utilizing Yao's potential. If that happens, we can go to the next step.

    Its all about the chemistry.

The players know each other's tendencies
THey know what they are supposed to do in certain situations.
They enjoy playiong with each other
They enjoy helping each other win games.

These are still the same players that we had a month ago....but now they are comfortable on the floor with each other, and they are comfortable with waht the coaches expect from them...and they are willing to work on their flaws.

Same feeling I have watching many Rox games this season. If both TMac & Yao use effectively together, they both would average at least 25 points / game.

i think Yao could be used more effectively but i think if he could stay out of foul trouble and play about 5 more minutes on average he'd be close to 25 a game the way he's been playing of late. Lately, only foul trouble seems to be the thing that's stopping him.

It is the effect of team basketball. Our veteran players brought with them tons of playing experience and being at their twilight years of professional basketball, personally they really have nothing to loose, in fact by playing selfless team basketball and win may be a way to end their career. What my concern is how long could they maintain such tempo and enthusiam.

Well I think you have to have excellent defense and offense..which is pretty obvious.

I love when Dikembe swats shots and like secures a rebound. I love when Ryan Bowen is a pest running around and deflecting everything. I like when Juwan Howard gives effort and defends the pick and roll waaaaaay out...and hustles back. I love it when Yao isn't call for a foul. :D

Offense..it's really looking good..Yao and Tmac..our main options..if both of them do well..then we're unstoppable. But even if we have one doing well..that's really good..just keep both involved in the offense..get everyone involved..and yeah i love our veterans. Sura, Wesley, Barry, Padgett, Bowen, and Dikembe are great

Ward is a good shooter but yeah I guess he could back up Sura with Barrett 4th string behind STrickland. :)

I feel that Yao is far from reaching HIS full potential. If that happens, we can go to the next step.

Stop blaming *others* for Yao's faults.

Do you people even watch the games or at least understand a lick of basketball?

Common guys 'takes' like these are getting tired already.......Yao is being given every opportunity out there every night to be all he can be. If there was a coach that was going to "kill" Yao he is Mr. Mean.

Again at this point of his career, the only person/thing holding Yao back is Yao. Yao is a "great" player in the making - coaches do NOT necessarily bring out the greatness in players of his calibre (the truly great ones) rather the said players elivate their games. Unless we are saying that Yao is overrated and not that good that he needs a coach to make him a dominant player. Suffice to say that there is no coach living on the face of this earth that can do more for Yao now than JVG is doing and more that Yao can do for himself. QED!!!

All those in favor of the dictatorship of the uncommon man, please raise your right hand and say "aye".

Fegwu, please keep the rest of us in the loop of what is really going on internally with the Rockets: practices, JVG's current agenda, Ewing's coaching agenda with Yao, team chemistry. :D

Or perhaps this entire board is nothing but a bunch of fans watching the same televised games and then blindly speculating as to why certain things work well and others don't. While 99% of what goes on at practices and behind the scenes with the Rockets remains unknown to all of us. ALL OF US.

Since when is "what goes on at practices" the same as "what goes on during televised games?" This is what we are basing our persective on.

And after learning what works and what doesn't after the last three decades. Don't ya think that we'd have a *tiny* bit of understanding what what's going on?

As opposed to just the same old "Yao's not being utilized correctly...it's the coaches fault Yao has not become Shaq!"

Yao will be *utilized* more and more each and every year. His will make improvements slowly but surely; at HIS OWN PACE.

At this particular point and time I don't care how you use Yao, the rockets will be out in the first round. Yao is not ready, and the rockets are still missing parts.

    So does losing.

Back at the start of the season, Yelling "Give the ball to Yao (and trying to do it)" did not produre more wins. Not until Sura was activated and TMac started having more of an offensive role.

Yao's minutes were also managed better which improved his over-all game. This was because he was on the floor more; less fatiue, less fouls. Yao needed a lot of help.

So, I'm not sure what you mean when you say, "Winning makes people blind." It's important to understand WHY we are winning.

Or is that not what you care about? Hmmmm? Maybe you care about "more points for Yao at the expense of losing."

Awww... playing the almighty "you are just a YOF" card again. Since when did YOFs become the saving straws of the cheerleaders?

One thing I come to know through being a Rockets fan for many years is that the biggest cheerleaders are usually the biggest bandwagoning fans. For fair weather fans just want to float on wins and refuse to take criticism for their favorite player/coach. Their favorites need to coincide with the team's bright future to fuel their feeble fanship. Don't about you on this, and frankly, don't care. I try not to be the type of person that resorts to attacking position.

Stop blaming everything on Yao and his exclusive fans. Yao can be better utilized. A few wins don't make anybody free of criticism, not Yao, not JVG, not the cheerleaders.

Actually, this is a good signature quote material.

"Winning makes people blind. - Panda"

It's kinda like saying, "Eating when you are starving is bad, because there are other more important things to do than eat."

Or maybe, "I have $1000 in my pocket, but I don't want it because it's not a million."

Or, "I don't like winning. I like scoring better."
