In the game thread they are saying something about him being mad at the way they finished the game...
Cause we're not playing well. Our defense has taken a dive: Opposing point guards are getting in the paint and wreaking havoc on Rafer and Luther, Yao is having a hard time covering guard penetration and the pick n rolls, he's a step slow in everything, and there are defensive rotations being missed (like Redd and Bell shooting wide open). We shouldn't be having these kind of problems at this point in the season. It is worrisome.
Maybe JVG's talk about lack of "killer instinct" has rubbed off on TMac. TMac might be tuning up for the playoffs, and trying to ingrain that attitude into the team.
It comes from a player who has never made it of the first round of the playoffs. In fact I love it, he knows it will take more than Yao and himself for the Rockets to be successful, he understands the importance of getting home court advantage vs the Jazz. He is stepping it up and showing some leadership, least that is what I hope the problem might be.
It seems Gundy and he's public tirade on yao and mac is making tracy understand were entering the money strecth now. tracy in the last two game has been a phenominal on defense. he had 4 steals tonight. he's offense is starting to look more fluid as well. Tracy knows when to coast and when to get ready to bring it.
he's still coasting a bit when the offense flows through yao. but he knows yao's not ready to dominate an entire game yet on both ends. he has to pick it up EVEN more in the playoffs.
On dont think he's coasting on defense. offense a little still, but he's defense is in lock down mode. playing defense like he did as a raptor.
tmac is still our best individual defender, yes better than battier. i think u'll see tmac on the other team's best defender more and more as we go into the playoffs. and u might see him on that guy exclusively the last 6-7 mins of the game.
tmac has looked great lately. he is really gearing up. yao on the other hand has really struggled to find his rhythm. you can tell he is very frustrated with his play lately, but his injured hand and residual rust has been limiting him. I just hope there is enough time left in the season for yao's fingers to heal up enough so he can get the shot stable, wrap up the rebs, and be able to take those smacks on the hand without it effecting him. also, yao's ability to create rebounds seems to be down pretty significantly. I guess that would be shown by his reb avg being down. and by create rebounds I mean like the way chuck hayes does it....stealing rebounds, going after the ball, and not letting the ball just come to you. I really hope the leg isn't bothering him more than he is leading on.
man i just hope yao will get back to grabbing 10+ boards. we need to control the boards. hopefully deke will be back soon to finish the season.
I said in another thread that yao needs another 15 games to fully get he's second wind and he's rhythem back. i still wholeheartedly stand by that. Injury like he's is not easy to comeback from and dominate straight away. it takes time. he's conditioning will still take time. If you remember prior to he's injury, the big fella was running out games with a great deal of ease. he's stamina was a non-issue anymore. once he gets to that level, we'll see more of yao attacking the baket and getting more offensive boards and more free throws. it's he's lack of conditioning that is making him tierd hence he dosent attack the rim as he should.i got alot of faith in our BIG LION
do u trust tsak? dude is slower than deke for god sakes. don't let one game fool you. he was ok tonight but was horrible yesterday. we need deke for 12-14 mins, esp. w/ hayes situation.
My guess would be the officiating, heh. He looked like he wanted to slap an official on about six different occasions, and I hardly blame him after the officiating in the last two games.
TMAC did not even attend the post-match press conference. He had packed and left early for Los Angeles 1 day in advance of his team. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=2817826&postcount=411 The incident you referred to was in 4Q during time out. He was angry/p@$$ed as he was not happy about his team mates playing some crappy defense.
Yeah, I heard it in his voice too. It was right after the reporter asked him about some jergoff claiming to be better than his starting-NBA-point-guard teammate.
