    Two Reason.

    1) Save money.
    2) They thought it was no helpful for the team. Last year, Boki got enough playing time yet no big improvement, no other players were in rockets roster finally.

This team is pretty much set. There is no need for one!

Summer league teams are reserved for teams with a fair amount of rookie and second-year players of which the Rockets have neither.

we might not have anyone to put on the summer league roster but you never know what you find from that summer team.

the jazz got kirilenko, the mavs got daniels, etc...

Why bother with the summer leagues when we don't have any young players?

Big mistake in my opinion... but JVG isn't a rookie-friendly coach.

Summer league is reserved for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year players. Something the Rockets do not have except for Gaines and Badaine.

Even if we're not fielding a team, I wouldn't be surprised if we were scouting them. I think an interesting thing to find out would be just how many teams are participating.

There is also Boki, the second round pick from this year and any free agent they choose to sign. Marquis Daniels was not even drafted, he was an undrafted free agent the Mavericks found for last years summer league squad. The Mavs just signed another player off of this years summer league squad named D.J. Obinga to their roster for this coming season.

Personally I think not fielding a summer league squad is a wasted opportunity.

Well Dallas has 2 teams playing in the Summer Leagues. If they can field 2 teams then I think we can scrounge up 1 roster and give Boki, Badiane, Wilks, etc. a little more experience (and more importantly us Rocket fans something to keep us entertained during the offseason ;) )

Wouldn't Boki be off playing ball with the Slovenian national team?

I don't think Boki or Wilks would be eligible to play. Something about only 1st and 2nd year players.

Slovenia didn't qualify for the Olympics so he would possibly e exempt form training with them.

and codell there are alot of 3rd year players playing.

I believe 3rd year players and beyond are only eligible if they are coming off an injury year.

I could be wrong on all that though. I am pretty sure players beyond year 2 have participation restrictions.
