UH Muslim Student Association is having their final event of the year. It will be a little talk by two Muslim women on why they "choose" to wear the Veil/Niqab. For many of you that have serious issues with oppression of Women in Islam, Dehumanizing of women, and other Human Rights issues regarding Muslim women should DEFINITELY come to this event and hear the other side of the story. If you guys choose to come, the guys in charge would like for you to RSVP(on the facebook event page) so they can arrange the food in advance. RSVP HERE!!!! EVENT PAGE Yes, there is FREE FOOD!!! The event is on Wednesday April, 18 at 12pm at the UC underground Cougar Den and food will be served after the talk... See you guys there
That's funny, I was just about to post an article from the English Student Association about "why I choose not to go to the dentist".
Dude... that's truly really insensitive of your part... it was because she was a woman, that nobody WANTED to hear her...
As long as the picture on her drivers license does not have the veil and she promptly removes it when asked by an officer of the law....no big deal. LAW over culture baby !!! Oh, and let me answer the question "Why I chose to wear the veil" BECAUSE IT GETS ME ATTENTION !!!!! DD
I don't think anyone does or should have a problem with women wearing the veil. I think the problem is when they don't have the choice not to, by law.
What if I have a culture of FREEDOM!!!! The LAW trumps Freedom???? I wanna pursue some Happiness I WANT LIBERTY!!!!1 Rocket River
a truly rivating event for sure. we'd all like to know why muslims wear veils. on a side note, does anybody erm... how do i say... not like nike muslims? i've dubbed them this because they'll wear the veil, but yet put jeans, regular nike shoes on etc. infuriating.
Yeah, they way they wear them, they make me horny too. In fact, some r****ds are covering up their hair but wearing short skirts. LOL! Anyways... maybe they should remove the veil when asked by an officer, but if I were a woman I would reserve the right to record a video of the event on my phone (or whatever) and for the officer to NOT be an ******* if I ask to see his/her ID as well. Oh and DaDa, keep preaching what you never bothered to seriously look into! It's awesome!
Oddest sight I've seen was in Morocco in 2000. The mom's or grandmothers in full traditional gear walking beside their daughters dressed in the latest (and skimpiest) European fashion.
