Unless TMac does that crazy TMac thing where he hits shot after shot in the clutch, the rockets almost always loose in the clutch. I think it is the main reason we loose our games, cause we dont make the plays. Their is veteran leadership as JVG says. But when it matters most, we cant score the points and we cant play the defense, why so?

Christ, is Tmac supposed to hit the shot every time?

He's clearly not comfortable at home for whatever reason, and no one really understands it. Must be the pressure of playing in front of 10,000 mildly interested fans. Seems like he's automatic on the road and very human at home. wonder what his home/road split is even on ft%.

edit: yep, just looked it up, and the difference is striking. 80% ft on the road, and 67% at home. 30 ppg on 44% from the field on the road, 20 ppg on 39% shooting at home.

I read something a while back about the team practicing on the TC court, did they stop doing this?

It seems like we never get many good shots at the basket. Wesley had a good look tonight but usually the shots are contested. I guess the fault there would be JVG's play calls.

Hey - I've got an idea! How about if we actually have a large lead in the final seconds so that win-or-lose doesn't depend on one shot?

It's not the clutch shot that loses it for us. Recently, teams like Detroit and Minnesota get a lead in the final minutes and protect it. In doing so, they demonstrate how they are controlling the game - not us. This is why they won (and deserved to) and we lost.

We're just missing one piece. One extra scorer who can bump us up to the next level. And he should be back in about a week.

I think they had a good chance to win tonight...David Wesley's ball fake to Tmac left him wide open for the tying 3 pt shot...it just missed....that happens sometimes.

Really good teams don't play close games. They crush their competition.

JVG will always keep it close. That's why we'll never be really good with him.

so jvg is the reason david wesley missed that last shot, and jvg is the reason the rox didnt destroy the bux n bobcats by 40 points. C'mon man be more creative in picking your reasons for our losses, wtf do you think a coach is supposed to do. I get it jvg should have stopped that line drive 30 footer ricky davis hit with the shot clock running down.

All im saying is that we have a good coach and people need to stop using him as a scapegoat for every loss the rox have.

How about this not being our night. How about the fans for not showing up to the Toyota Ctr. Shoot, if I wasnt in the military and I could attend every rox game I could, I would be at the toyota ctr supporting our underrated team.

Are you serious??? I guess the 93-94 Rockets weren't a good team. Were they before your time? I have yet to see a team plod along as methodically as that squad. So many people, me included, kept complaining about how they couldn't put teams away and had to keep playing the starters heavy minutes just to win games. I was sure this would catch up to them.

I know you hate JVG with a passion and would blame him if you got a flat tire, but my goodness.

If you were just joking this, pardon my density. :)

It is JVG's fault that he got Wesley a WIDE open shot (who has been shooting 47% from the field in January). How is that JVG's fault?

You make some and you miss some.

Tonight, we were missing Juwan Howard's 20ppg. We never looked good in our offensive sets tonight cause Juwan is our main pick-n-roll guy w/ Yao out. If we had Juwan AND hit our freaking freethrows, we'd likely have won that game.

I voted for "We dont loose because of the clutch"

I'm not actually sure what that means, but that's how I voted.

We are lack of mentally tough players. Speaking of this, I'd really like a Chauncey Billups type of player on our team.

McGrady held the ball too long last night. He needs to either pass the ball off instead of taking that extremely difficult leaning bank shot. Or at the very least go to the rim and try to make some contact.
