With Al Harrington out for the year. I would rather try for Jalen Rose, I heard he's on the block, because Tinsley took over the point, so his numbers are decreasing, and hes in the dog house. I don't know how much Rose is making but I know hes making a little more than Rice money. We could trade KT/CATO/Walt Williams (maybe toronto's #1 if needed) for Rose/Primo Brezec. They need big men right now, so they can get past the 1st/2nd round of the playoffs. And we could get a SF who can shoot with consistency (he leads the pacers in points scored) and we also get a young PF/C. Francis/Moochie Mobley/Torres Rose/T-Mo Griffin/Primo Willis/Collier - (Draft a C in this years draft) pacers lineup Tinsley/Best R.Miller Croshere/Walt Williams KT/Bender Jermaine O'neal/Cato (back together again) this would benefit the pacers it would solidify their bench, and give them a starting PF. Bender is not yet ready to start. this would benefit the rockets because they need a SF that can score. And Rose is still young.
Tinsley is struggling badly and with Harrington out now, the Pacers need Rose more than ever this season. They wouldn't take KT, Walt, and Cato for him anyway, yet alone another big man as well. Perhaps Mobley and Walt for the two. The Rockets wouldn't do it, but it's a much more even trade in terms of ability, cap, and need.
The reason they were going to trade Rose was because of Al Harrington. Now that Al Harrington is hurt they need Rose more than ever. Plus Rose plays no defense. He isn't as bad as Walt or Rice but we need someone who plays D. My choice would be Artest. Give up the 1st rounder we got from Toronoto+Collier for Artest
I don't know why we would want Artest, unless we were going to trade Mobley. We've got the backcourt pretty well sewn up and if anything we need to be looking to get better in the frontcourt, to add more depth. Man, it sure would be nice to see Cato start a streak of the kind of consistency we're seeing over the last few games. Then we wouldn't need to trade him. With Mo T coming back next year, and Cato showing the kind of effort he's put forth the last week or so, our front court will be above average and capable of doing a lot of damage in most games.
Lets not be dumb again. Trade Cato as soon as possible. You dont know when he will revert back to his old form.
Would someone explain to me why we would trade for anything other than a frontcourt player. We need somekind of inside presence or we'll never be more than we are right now.
Cato needs to go ASAP! I don't care which team just not ours... Artest is an average SF on a chitty team we don't need or want him. We need to get a young above average SFs heres a list of who we can get. Jalen Rose Lamar Odom - Right now hes injured. Rashard Lewis - Wants the max next season. Bonzi Wells - Wants the max also next season. Out of those 4 I would pick Odom. Hes younger than all of them and has more all around game. Clippers don't really need Odom, because they have Miles and Maggette. Torres/KT/This years pick/(Torontos #1 if needed) for Odom Francis - Mobley - Odom - Taylor - Griffin
problem with odom will be trying to sign him and francis in the same contract year will be tough if not impossible
It can be done..... Francis will get the max Odom will re-sign for little less than the max. Griffin is cheap. Mobley and Taylor are reasonable values. Trade Cato or Rice and we'll be set.
Getting Rose is not a bad idea. I'd like to see him play the point on offense to allow Francis to shoot more and concentrate on scoring.
Clippers wont let go of Odom unless we throw Mobley and this years first rounder. I would do that by the way. Odom and Francis will be crazy.

Trade Mobley, Moochie, and Walt for Jalen Rose and Travis Best. We'd have the best backcourt in the West, and we get rid of our ballhogs. Indiana's happy because they have someone to replace Reggie when he retires. Moochie would be a good backup for Tinsley. A tandem of Rose and Francis would be damn near unstoppable. Both guys can pass and are good ball handlers. They are both scorers who can create their own shot. Travis Best is more solid than Moochie. He is a veteran who brings good leadership off the bench and doesn't dribble for 23 seconds like Moochie.
By the Crew? NugzFan -- if there was a large Nuggets board I guarantee there would be <I>some</I> suggesting Tariq Abdul-Wahad, Avery Johnson and three #2's for Kevin Garnett could work for the Timberwolves. Take some advice from mfclark, a Magic fan who clearly and intelligently shot down this proposal while 1) not labeling the entire board and 2) not being an ass.
