Do you guys ever think that this would be a much better scenario for us? I'm really concerned about T-MAC shooting to many jump shots or three's. As much as I would love T-MAC to be on our team, I think we should consider that we need some slashing for Yao to be effective. T-MAC is not as good as he use to be driving to the hoop. Obviously his back has something to do with it. I need your thoughts on this guys. this is just a presumption guys what ever happens I rather have T-MAC than SF!
Here's some reasons why not: 1. Kobe has given no indication he wants to play here. T-Mac has. 2. Kobe's first priority is getting away from Shaq. It's highly probable he doesn't feel like going to Houston and hearing "just dump it in to the big guy" again. 3. Kobe is a worse 3-point shooter than T-Mac.
But I think we should just keep all our options open. What if Mcrady trade does'nt happen. I don't want the same line-up as last year. I just think we should be really aggressive in all trade scenarios.
Kobe needs a city with a big spotlight so he can surpass Jordan as the greatest of all time. Houston is not that city. LA and NY are the only 2. NY doesn't have the cap room. Honestly i think Phoenix already has a team that would be perfect for him, just like Jordan did. However, again, no big spotlight there. If Shaq gets traded, Kobe stays. We all know how Rudy will let his backourt run wild.
Mitch Kupchak did say that, but why not try to talk KOBE out! Also, did you guys ever thought that if we might have a losing season next year ( which i don't want ) T-MAC might not sign an extensions and we are left with nothing. except YAO. Don't get me wrong with this guys but what IF? I just want this team to be winners again.
T-Mac will sign the extension as part of the deal to bring him here in the first place. There will be no trade unless that is done ahead of time.
Forget about kobe. What makes you think he is going to be happy here with Yao? I doubt he would ever want to play with a dominant big man in the first place. I just want to see how far a team built around can go in the playoff.
4. Mitch Kupchak has stated that by no means would he even consider a sign and trade scenario involving Kobe.
What if we could get the Tracy deal done, and trade them McGrady straight up for Kobe? That way, LA gets to keep Shaq. Kobe is slightly better than T-Mac, but whatever they get for Shaq won't be better than Shaq.
I think we'd all rather have someone that said they want to play here. Plus a person that said they want to play with a big man.
Rather than someone who has 3 rings playing with a big man? Kobe has repeatedly said that he knows he couldn't have won anything without Shaq. He knows he needs a big man.
During the playoff games in Houston. Kobe was so impressed with the "No means No" and "Guilty" chants that he knew right there and then those were the kind of fans he wanted to play in front of. Forget a SnT, my guess is he'll take our MLE $.
So, making the playoffs this past season is not being "winners"? Maybe I should start a thread with any random thought that goes through my head such as this one... We Need to Sign Gheorge Muresan to Be Our Back-Up Center!
You're concerned about too many jump shots and three's and you want to sign Kobe Bryant? Did you watch the Finals? That's a bit like saying "I'm concerned about opposing point guards posting up Magic Johnson so I think we should sign Spud Webb."
