It's because stupid saps are willing to pay for the name, regardless of the fact that they can get the same quality from Target for less.
In most cases, it's because there are enough people that are willing to pay for them, that's why. Not to mention if you can sucker a celebrity to wear something you made, good grief... all the lemmings that follow them will catch on.
this branding occurs in every consumer good out there. there is the whole perceived prestige of having a pair of jeans by Levi that cost 150 bucks instead of pair of jeans by "X brand" that cost 25 dollars. Same quality only difference is the logo on the jeans
They make $150 Levi's jeans?? That thing better come with $120-$130 in its pocket. I know those True Religion jeans run over $200-$300 and I really have no idea why. I mean seriously, what the hell? lol
clearly you can see I have no idea how much levi jeans cost or what is a name brand when it comes to clothes the only clothes pricing i know are the prices for jerseys at the rocket shop
I once worked with a guy... we sold high-end wide-format printers. One of our models wasn't selling well. To improve sales, he jacked up the price so that it was the highest price of any printer we sold. I didn't understand. He said sometimes people just want to buy the most expensive thing there is, blindly thinking that it's the best product. Sales on that model increased after he jacked up the price. True story.
It's the mostly the style. You can tell a Target pair of jeans from a name brand one. One makes you look like farmer john, the other a hipster.
Expensive crap tells the world YOU GOT MONEY [even if you don't] If people think you got money . .they treat you better than some slob they don't think has money You get more women . . . more often . . .more easily if you can demonstrate you got the $$$$ [I won't comment on the QUALITY of these women . . but they there] and yes. . it is that simple Rocket River
thank guys for the answer. Expensive stuff kinda pointless, unless the material fit the price you paying for not the logo or the brand you paying for.
