I hope KT is being traded for sure. That is the only reason he should have been in in the last couple of minutes. We're in a close game.Cato's playing his ass off , they take him out, with Bradley out! Eddie is a defensive presence. An offensive if Stevie would pass it to him. RUDY , COACH HIM TO PASS SOMETIMES. LIVE AND DIE BY THE JUMP SHOT= NO CHAMPIONSHIP EVER AGAIN.I"m sorry I know everyones tired of the KT posts but he is a defensive liability, and when he does'nt score he's almost USELESS for us at the end of a game. IF HE"S SO DESERVING, then why the hell would he be coming off the bench for every other team.SCREW HIM live and die with TMo.By the way , if we could finish a break it would help. OH well, I hope we don't screw up the lottery for ourselves too.
I want to know WTF KT was doing guarding Nowitski down the stretch in the 4th. Nowitski was EG's b**** tonight. EG was handling him but no, in the 4th Q KT was on Nowitski and he started scoring key buckets. Nowitski looked bad with EG on him but with KT he scored easily. I don't know if Rudy was behind that but if he was it was another great move by the genious.
I was particularly disgusted w/ KT's effort tonite. In the fourth quarter Nash and Nowitzki hit about 6 easy jumpers on him because he wouldn't put a hand up and contest shots. Then on both ends of the courts I counted at least 4 rebs in the last 5min that he could have gotten to if he jumped - instead allowing Nash to jump over him or just swiping at the ball lazily. I don't know if this was all a by-product of his inability to get his offensive game going because of the Mavs' tall front line, but it's almost like he and Cato have had a heart transplant or something.
I've been a Cato hater in the past but Cato should have been in there instead of KT in the 4th Q. Rudy's so gung ho about the three guard line up that it leave the team lacking on the front line. Therefore we needed Cato in there along with EG to have a better defensive presence tonight.
They both should've been in there...there's no reason why not. Moochie is the one who shouldn't have been in there.
Sheesh! Why don't y'all just marry Griffin. He played an incredible game on the defensive end tonight, but what about his 1 of 8 shooting from the 3 point line? I guess y'all are so busy hating Kenny you failed to see that. It was a team effort like always, but if you asked me what the biggest problem was tonight I'd say it was Eddie's shooting. He was absolutely killing us on the offensive end. In fact, the last couple of games his shot hasn't been falling. And those of you b**chin about Eddie not getting passed to enough, don't you think if he's shooting eight three pointers he's getting the ball plenty? Man o man, I don't even know where half of y'all are coming from sometimes. Anyways, Jordan with the game-winner tonight! Oh yeah!!!
Well, I almost agreed with you until that part I bolded. You can't be serious about that, can you? That's rich, if you are serious...lol...live and die with TMo, a freaking 2nd round rookie over a guy who is having the best season of his career. Time to update the sig....
I think some of you KT bashers are just really screwed up in the head. I actually took the time to track how Nowitzki fared while being guarded by KT and Dirk by my count shot 3-8. He was 1-6 until the end of the 4th when he made those last two jump shots, the last of which was a very very tough shot. KT and Eddie were switching off on Dirk the entire ball game. Griffin had an excellent defensive game but Kenny was very solid as well, especially in the 3rd when he kept denying Nowitzki the ball. Also, those Nash shots were not "wide open". They were picks set by Nash and when KT tried to switch to him, Nash threw up from long range. Nash scores 33 points on 13-19 shooting but he hits two shots off of picks where Kenny is trying to get out to him on a switch and damn KT is just a terrible defender. How about those other 29 points he dropped? Who was guarding HIM? It wasn't Kenny I'll tell you that. Oh by the way KT shot 3-7 while Griffin shot 4-15. Seeing as I actually WATCHED the game unlike some of you, nobody on that court could guard KT. He was flying past Juwan Howard at will and it's a damn shame we didn't exploit that more. KT might have gone for 25 points if he'd gotten 15 shots like Eddie did. The last two games, KT has gone up against Jamison who he was embarrassing out there at Compaq and tonight he played very well against Dirk. Some of you need to recognize...
KT got his ass pounded on the boards by Howard. Juwan freaking Howard. The Mavs version of Mo Taylor. There is no excuse for KT to get raped on the glass like that. All of those offensive rebounds seemed to kill us. I don't mind if KT doesn't get every board, but I do mind when he lets his man get every board. He is a horrible rebounder when he is in a crowd down low. The few times he does get the ball, he manages to lose it out of his hands. The only rebounds he seems to pull down are the ones where he is the only person near the ball.
You're talking about tonite's game right?? KT played terrible D at the end of tonite's game. Yes, those 2 Nash jumpers were off of picks. That does not, however, give KT a Get Out of Playing Defense Card - he DID NOT contest those jumpers Nash put up in any way. They were like gimme-automatic-layup-esque jumpers for any NBA PG. Nowitzki was also given the same generous open room to practice his jumper on KT the last few min of the game. As kidrock mentioned, KT's rebounding was terrible the entire nite. I will say that KT had some nice denials of inlet passes into Nowitzki early in the game. But when anyone did get the ball inside on KT, it's like he just gives up and concedes the easy 2. This notion that KT would have gotten 25 w/ more touches tonite - I got a nice chuckle outta that! Actually, he woulda gotten swatted about 5 more times by the tall trees inside and I think RT actually saved him some unneccesary embarresment by not going to him too much tonite. It's a shame KT cannot drill that open 20footer teams keep giving him, because with his lack of height, he is going to need that part of his game to stay competitive in the league.
Quite obviously you're both on a Kenny vendetta because you're now trying to make **** up to bash him with. I wonder what you consider to be contesting a shot because in most of the baskeball playing world when a defender raises his arm and moves towards the offensive player that's called contesting the shot. In Dirk's case he was 4-18 at that point in the game, would you rather get up in his face and let him drive and get fouled or let him jack up another jumper? Christ... Howard's 9 offensive rebounds? According to the tape and not your horrible biased memories, this is how it broke down. KT 2 Willis 2 Cato 2 Eddie 1 Mobley 1 Fastbreak 1 Maybe you should both go watch the tape instead of running off at the mouth about what you obviously didn't see. Your assesment of KT's offense is also quite laughable. Kenny went to the line TEN TIMES tonight. Do you think that was because they were "swatting" his shots or because they were having trouble stopping him from getting to the bucket? Please... get a new hobby because this obsession with trashing Kenny is just pathetic.
14 ppg 48% FG 7 rpg A couple of points: 1. Kenny is already a capable NBA player. The stats do not lie. 2. Kenny has improved each season of his short NBA career, leading to the point this season where many basketball minds who are not even associated with the Rockets have called him one of the most improved players in the NBA. 3. Young players usually, you know, get better as time goes on. So, in summary. Kenny is already a good NBA player. I don't know how anyone can debate that with the stats he has put up all season long. He is obviously interested and enthusiastic about improving his game. I bet you can't find one Rocket who worked harder in the offseason. And finally, he is young and still has room to grow. So when you question Kenny's ability to be competitive in this league, can I assume that you are a stranger to logic? That's all it is people! Simple logic!!! Try being objective once in a while, it could do some of you good. Anyways, I agree that it would help a lot if Kenny improves his shot, which I'm sure he will. But even if he doesn't, I'll bet my life savings that he is going to have a long NBA career. I'm not saying he's going to be a star, or even a starter for that matter. But he'll be a solid player for years to come. If you can't see that, well...let's just say I'm glad you're not evaluating talent for the Rockets.
I will give KT credit for working his butt off. However, how can one say that he has potential? What exactly is this based on? He doesn't have the size or athleticism to lead you to believe that he can get better. Other than improving his jumper, there's nothing really that KT can do to improve. I assume he won't be growing taller anytime soon. And I assume that he won't be able to jump any higher and finish better.
Thank you for the post. I can't stand it when people just kind of make up things to prove their own weak points. Way to put this guy in his place! "Kenny just let Dirk Nowitzki (one of the top ten players in the league) take the open shot." Bull s**t. Kenny was right on him. I remember, because I was impressed that Dirk hit the shot with a guy right in his face. There's a reason Dirk is one of the best players in the league ya know.
And you watch Rockets games right? Yes, Kenny isn't tall. Everybody knows that. But how can you say he's not atheletic? Did you not see the Raptors game where he blew by Antonio Davis and then flew in for the stuff? That has my vote for the Rockets play of the year so far. It was so quick, Davis didn't even know what him. He has one of the quickest first steps in the league, and yes, he can jump just just as high if not higher than most other players in the NBA. I would say he is above average as far as vertical goes. And not only that, the guy is in great shape and has alot of strength. He's physical and not afraid to take the ball inside. Its almost laughable that you are questioning his athleticism. This is a guy who having a great season and putting up 14 ppg. But you think he's too short, he can't shoot, has no athleticism, and can't jump. How the hell do you think he's keeps scoring at a respectable FG% of 48%. Get a clue (and mabye a televsion)! Kenny can improve his jumper, improve his finishing, and add some new moves to his game. These are all things I can easily see Kenny improving on. Then maybe he can shoot above 50%! Only then will he be good!
I will never understand the Kennyhatas. He is definitely on the short list of most improved players in the league this year, and is certainly - absolutely no doubt about this - the most improved player on this team this year. Jesus, he's only half the man (in thickness) that he was last year, and he's averaging better than the dude we just paid nearly $50 million for... Get a grip, people. KT will either help us to win, or he will help us to get another player who will help us to win. His development has been amazing. He's not even supposed to be a starter, fer cryin' out loud! Where the f*k do you guys think we'd be in the W-L column without him???
Get off it already. KT didnt' have the greatest game, but people have been on him about not passing. Time and time againt tonight when KT got in trouble what did he do? He PASSED! If you're gonna b**** and moan when he doesn't, then at least give him credit when he does.
Making **** up to bash him? Biased? Running off at the mouth??You're getting awfully emotional now! Obviously Kenny put a hand up on Nash & Nowitzki, however, there is a clear distinction b/t just casually putting a hand up in hopes the shooter will miss and actually closing out on the shooter. Re: KT's TEN FREETHROWS: Yes! Perhaps we should goto him everytime so he can get fouled and hit 1 outta 2 at the line. That'll win us some games!! I have no obsession w/ trashing Kenny, in fact my first post in this thread notes my surprise at his lack of effort last nite - compared to the presence of his effort in most other games. As I posted, he was probably frustrated w/ not being able to get his usual shots off inside over the Mavs very tall frontline. Now regarding your temper tantrum.....my deepest sympathies are with you in this time of need and I can feel your pain when posters such as myself have to prick your balloon of hope that Kenny will never ever ever ever have a bad game.
