He may not be good enough right now. But if the organisation believe he’s the guy to build around then he should be given the key to run the offense. Silas never run PnR with him. Never played any set to get Green open. Most of time he just stands at the corners watching KPJ fumbles the ball. It’s driving me crazy.

Jalen Green is getting the minutes and the scoring opportunities, but he's not hitting his shots consistently. That was the knock against him in the draft - streaky scorer but with huge upside.

Easy, because he'd be absolutely terrible at it.

He's got enough to work on as is, he doesn't need to be forced to try to learn how to run an offense just because delusional fanbois think he should be running the offense.

Right now he needs to focus on being able to hit open 3's and score in transition while learning the basics about how to play defense. That's more than enough to take on at once.

He’s better suited to sit in the corners and ball watch apparently. o_O

Because he's not remotely a point guard. Neither is KPJ, but he's a lot further on in his development than Green. Green might one day have the playmaking skills to be a secondary ballhandler, but I doubt he ever runs point.

I cannot fathom how after watching half the season, you think Jalen Green is anywhere close to being capable of doing that.

There's a major difference as to 'running the offense' and 'being the focal point of the offense.'

The latter will come in time - like you said, OP, he's not ready for that yet. But he'll get there.

As to the former? Bruh, did you watch the early part of the season where Green wasn't a good passer / decision-maker? The biggest reason why Green isn't running the offense, is simply because he's not good at it.

His assist-to-TO ratio (63:70) is a 0.9, as of today. That's absolutely putrid.

FWIW, KPJ (161:104) is at least a 1.55. Also not good, but not as bad as Green.

He doesn't look to pass a lot. Would rather run it around sengun.

Dear Clutchfans: there are multiple types of guards. Not everyone below the height of 6'6 can magically play the point guard position. It is a specialized position not unlike a QB in football. Porter, Green are not PGs. Please think twice before posting the "why is Trevelin Queen not playing PG?" thread. Thank you.

NOTE: Post formerly said Daishen Nix, because I am also dumb.

Running the offense? OP must think Green is Cade Cunningham. That’s not his game

SMH. A lot of ppl on this board are suffering from the Endowment Effect. First step is to recognize it.

    What Is the Endowment Effect?

The endowment effect refers to an emotional bias that causes individuals to value an owned object higher, often irrationally, than its market value.

In behavioral finance, the endowment effect, or divestiture aversion as it is sometimes called, describes a circumstance in which an individual places a higher value on an object that they already own than the value they would place on that same object if they did not own it.

This type of behavior is typically triggered with items that have an emotional or symbolic significance to the individual. However, it can also occur merely because the individual possesses the object in question.

This kids dont remember that you can be a superstar without being playmaker. There used to be point guards on the teams lol. Jalen should be given ball in spots he can succeed he isnt point guard and shouldnt be. Just because Harden ate up 23sec off the shot clock doesnt mean its right. Matter of fact i prefer balanced offense and not just going through best scoring guy all the time

I like to think drafting those two is connected and based on their archetypes

his shooting was knock in the draft. If anything they would say he was the most ready the scoring. The knock oin him in the draft was defense. He is in a shooting slump but OP is right he isnt exactly being developed to be an alpha. KPJ is. Seems like they are developing Jalen to be KPJ's sidekick. Thats why a lot of people were saying that KPJ is holding back Jalen.

I think we will get a good enough draft pick without Jalen running the offense.

He's not good at running the offense. He's still a shoot first shooting guard with limited passing and vision and average handles.

Well, really it's just that they need to find people to blame Green's struggles on. They can't allow themselves to admit that He's really not an instant superstar rookie of the year candidate....that the draft hype was wrong, he's not "the most NBA ready", instead he's an incredibly raw athlete just learning how to play the game.

Since they can't admit this, they blame anyone and everyone else for it.

Silas is holding him back,somehow....by starting him every game, ensuring he gets a ton of minutes and shots.

KPJ is holding him back, somehow.....by taking the responsibility of running the offense, drawing the attention of the defense away from him, and creating good looks for him.

Sengun is holding him back, somehow.......by playing better than him, killing the "just 19" excuse.

It's just a weird little religious cult surrounding the kid. I do hope that one day Green develops into the guy they think he is right now, but they are absolutely insufferable.
