If some of you have been following my stories i wrote about a month ago. I was getting out of the military, medically. Well today i got by disability rating back and i got 70% permanent disablity. for those who don't know military terms. I get 70% of my army pay for the rest of my life. I am extremely happy about this. Now i am really getting set to be moving back to Houston. I know some of you might not understand all this just know i am very lucky!
congratulations? As stated before, thanks for your service. As you obviously know better than most, freedom isn't free, and paying the price to allow us to keep it, I'm glad you are being taken care of to at least some extent.
Congrats on being happy, sir! I do not want to think you're just sitting on your butt and collecting... so... if I may ask, what is the disability and, what are the requirements to continue this? How come they don't do this for more peeps? Also, can you even survive without a regular job on that kind of salary? But... please explain, if you don't mind. I know nothing.
congrats.. but i can't help but think of when he's in the wheelchair, having a party after getting hit by a car
That is not bad at all! That is good money. You can probably afford a decent 1 bed room apartment and a $300 per month car note on that kind of salary. I am happy for you, most people in your shoes have a much rougher time getting decent compensation. Hopefully the medical disability is not of the 'crippling' type (pardon the pun). If you are ever in town, I will do my part and buy you a drink or two (I no longer drink hence I can afford to get you two drinks instead of one)
I was injured by an IED in Iraq and had a complete tear pf my ACL, MCL, LCL along with torn meniscus. I suffer from PTSD and ever since then i suffer from really bad migraines. like 2-3 a week that makes my vision blurry. Don't worry swoly i'm not siiting on my butt collecting, i have been through a long hard road and it's only 1,900 a month but every little bit helps, so it's a big thing for me.
Wow, welcome home and thanks to you for your brave service. I'm glad this is one less thing for you to worry about and that perhaps it gives you just a little bit of closure. Would it help you to know that I just gave you a rep point?
Good luck my man. Fight that PTSD like the mofo it is. Also, when you feel a migraine coming on, think to yourself, "Self, this is just a manifestation of stress and I'm not going to let it prevent me from doing what I want to do." Then try to ignore it. It may not work, but it can't hurt. Again, good luck and thanks for your service.
If anything, I would have been the ahole for assuming stuff for asking, sir, not you. I REALLY REALLY appreciate the jobs you dudes take on that most of us wouldn't. Thank you.
On most days i might have a sarcastic remark but today i am happy like the thread says! Not everyone gets the same percentages but i consider myself very luck, it doesn't always happen to everyone and i get to keep all my healthcare benefits for me and my family. Finally light and the end of this dark tunnel i call the army.
Congrats cuz. The best part is, my best bud is moving back!!! To all that dont know, this whole process has sucked the life out of xblrocketman111. He is married, and has a beautiful baby girl, and has been living day to day not knowing if he's in or out, coming or going, losing money, etc. I'm really glad he got the closure he needed in this situation. He is a huge mega Rockets fan that will finally also get the blessing of being in Houston to attend games, instead of watching the other teams announcers on league pass. Congrats Chris!~ Signed, Skillet
