i think theres more rap songs with glock in there than any other gun..anyone know why? its a good gun but its not the best (IMHO), also doesnt seem like a gun of status such as a desert eagle (not practical but it does cost 1.5k) or something. i mean you rap about high-end clothing and car brand, why not gun??

cause when you're on the street all you can afford is a glock.

glock rhymes with that penis word, which rappers like to rap about also.

Desert eagle is a piece of crap.

Glock is a single syllable and rhymes with a bunch of stuff.

Glock are quite likely the best guns made.

You hear rappers rapping about the best clothes, the best cars...why not the best guns?

Because you can hold a glock sideways and not look like a complete idiot.

In the late 1980's to early 1990's Glocks were revolutionary in their use of lightweight plastics. Every other manufacturer now makes a gun with lots of plastic imitating the Glock design. Glocks are rapped about a lot because they are a very popular design.

And Glocks aren’t all that cheap. If you want cheap, your want a HiPoint.

And I take issue with the idea that Glocks are the best handguns out there. Off the top of my head, both Heckler & Koch and Sig Sauer both make much higher quality guns for a start. And though I've never seen one up close for more than a couple of minutes, the true gun nuts that I know of all go crazy over Kimber.

Just because they cost more does not make them "much higher quality"

He means more complicated design that requires more machining and is thus more expensive.

Some people claim to like the feel or trigger better on the more expensive guns.

Tolerance of machining. Care of construction. Quality of materials.

If you hold a Glock and a HK or Sig in your hand, you can tell one is made to stricter standards. This translates to accuracy, reliability and to a lesser degree to ability to function under poor conditions.

It is the difference between a Rolex and a Timex.

The old kimbers are decent 1911 based guns but I heard the newer ones lock up alot.

If you want a reliable gun that just shoots without worrying about it. You can't beat a glock. They were also the first or one of the first high capacity handguns.

If you want a high end gun, you get a wilson or springfield.

Glock is probably the #1 type of pistol sold. If not, it is right up there. A lot of law enforcement agencies carry Glock because of their reliability, ease of use, and ability to operate in less than desirable conditions, among other things. They are great guns and hold their value. New they run in the $500 - $600 range. There are many guns out there that are "better" guns, but in the cases of Hechler and Koch and Sig Sauer they also come with a higher price tag. For the price a Glock is one of the best pistols you can buy, and I don't even like Glocks. They just don't fit me well and I don't shoot them well, therefore I won't own one. I prefer my Kimber or Springfield XD.

I don't agree about tighter standards adding to reliability. The AK-47 is the loosest gun ever made in regards to tolerance and its probably the most reliable combat gun ever made. Contrast that with the older M-16 which is notoriously unreliable when conditions get tough.

A buddy of mine has a glock, he likes it ok. I'm about to get me a Springfield 9mm. I've done a ton of research and it seems to get the most glowing reviews for a handgun in the $500 range.

That comes with a big trade off in accuracy. I am interested in reliability without a loss of accuracy.

As far as the M-16/M-4 is just an outdated, poor design.
