Why is Terrence Morris shooting 3's?

I understand that Rudy likes all five positions shooting 3's all the time, but come on. Morris is 8 for 49, 16% for the year. If he wants to learn how to shoot from beyond 20 foot, then he needs to work on that in the offseason.

I dont mind Morris on the defensive end, and shooting around the basket, but he sucks from beyound 20 foot.

It reminds me of Kenny Thomas's first 3 seasons. His rookie year, he shot (122) 3 pointers, made 32 for 26%. 2nd year he lowered his attempts to 92, making 25 for 27%. This year he has only attempted 15 shots, MAKING 0 for 0%. KT finally realized that he can not hit that shot consistently, and has dramatically backed off.

Point is that Morris cannot shot the 3 pointer, and should not be getting those shots (over Griffin who is shooting 36% from 3 point land).

A few times in the game it seemed that Cuttino, was passing up a WIDE-OPEN Griffin (after a pick), and throwing the ball (across court) to Morris for the wide open BRICK. Whats up with that?

Has anybody else notice Griffin jumping up and down, trying to get his teammates attention?

Yes I do. And next year when he starts hitting three's at a 45% clip, and the guards still don't pass him the ball when he's open, we'll have a mighty hard time re-signing him come free-agent time.

    maybe, maybe no.

I understand Eddie looks up to Cat, but I don't understand why cause it seems like Cat never hits him when he's free.

    ..sigh..

When Eddie hits a three, EVERY TIME the Compaq crowd starts the chant. And the chant gets the Rockets fired up. It all started with that Denver game. He had a big second quarter, and the chant started. We won by 11.

Eddie Griffin is special cause he can play -and- the crowd loves him. He's not like Malone, who can play but people are disgusted with, nor someone like Mark Madson, who is a tiny role player but everyone loves him. He's good and he's a fan favorite at the same time.

Eddie hasn't only shown us the 3, he's shown us a jumpshot inside the line and on the baseline close to the basket. Once he works on dribbling and back-to-the-basket moves, he'll be unstoppable.

Oh yeah, T-Mo's shooting sucks. I agree. ;)

Yeah, I've noticed....EVERY GAME. Lots of times he gets downcourt on fast breaks and gets ignored.

MAYBE IT"S TIME FOR FAST EDDIE TO PUNCH A TEAMMATE:D

Terrence CAN make 3's... shooting is one of those rhythm things...

I can't possibly imagine he's found any kind of rhythm yet. Eddie's shooting a pretty low percentage, too, but better, cause he takes more and gets more and better looks.

But TMo was making them fairly well at the Revue... Course... that was the Revue...

    :)

Any SF in Rudy's offense will be taking 3 pointers whether they can shoot (Bullard/Walt) or not (Pippen).

Eddie is right behind Cuttino & Walt, in 3 point accuracy at almost 37%. His FG percentage does not matter, since the majority of those shots are 3 pointers. Give him (and Rudy) a couple of years, and when his low post game is utilitzed (with his outside shot), he will the best player on our team.

Every 3 pointer I have seen TM shoot, is wide open. I have yet to see any team respect his outside game. I always see him sitting wide open, on the perimiter. 16% is pretty bad for a 3 point shooter, I think Barkley made more than that!

TM has to realize his current skills, which is Defense, Rebounding & taking shots in the paint. If he wants to be a outside shooter, then he needs to work on that in the offseason. Vince Carter & Baron Davis did it, and so could TM.

I think defenses are PURPOSELY leaving T-Mo open. It's a win-win for the defense, they can use his man to help cheat on Cat or Steve, so they slow them down, then they get a break by having T-Mo clank a 3.

I think I will FAINT on the day our guards break down the opponets defense, and pass the ball to ___________ for a wide open 15 ft shot (on purpose).

There are so many ways to get an easy basket, but the Rockets would rather challenge 3-4 defenders on ISOs, shot fall-away 20 footers, or drible the ball (behind their backs) through multiple defenders, only to cause a turnover!

If TMo can shoot threes he is doing his best to hide it. Not only from the fans and the Rockets, but also all of the people at Maryland. He has never been able to shoot the three. He couldn't hit the college three, so I don't know why people think he will suddenly be able to make the longer NBA three. It was a bad waste of a first round pick IMO. TMo is a mediocre power forward, which puts him about 5th on the depth chart behind Willis. Hopefully some team starved for size will want him for his rebounding or something so we can partially recoup what trying to appease Steve has cost us.

Ummm... Morris is shooting 3's because that's what 3's do in Rudy's system (sorry for the terrible pun). Unfortunately, Morris cannot shoot 3's with accuracy. Hence, Rudy needs to adapt (just as he needed to, but did not, with Pippen) or use different personnel.

The majority of his shots are from 3 point land (or just within at about 17-20 foot). He sucks at both. He actually is not bad taking the ball to the basket. That seems to be the only time he can shoot better FG% than his 16% from the perimiter.

Rudy's whole system sucks. I doubt that a top notch SF, will take this team over the top. Maybe they need to clean house, with Rudys supporting cast.

I THINK THEY NEED TO BRING CLYDE DREXLER OUT OF RETIREMENT!! We need some YOUNG LEGS (lol) to bring us some fast break points.
