I've been flipping back and forth between the football game and the Rockets.Anderson did not play the whole fourth. What's the problem?
    Injury or Rudy

I was wondering the same thing as I watched in horror as Shariff scored at will over the Wizard.

For that matter, where the heck was Bullard tonight?

Shandon played the last couple of clutch minutes. But I was pissed that Walt kept on gettin skooled by Shareef on every play. shandon could've done a little better defensive job.

    Hey guys,

Could the reason be that Rudy is trying to showcase Walt's skills in order to trade him??? The Rocks were up by nine so why not play Walt and allow him to gain confidence against a poor team.

Any way you look at it, if he regains his shot/confidence, would benefit the Rockets.

If Walt is hot he can be in the game too.I'm all for the Wizard getting his swerve back and us shipping him.......Then again Rudy has wanted him for quite awhile.

You don't sit Shandon for the whole 4th quarter........especially without Stevie in the lineup(even with Stevie in the lineup)

Well I for one vote that Walt and his SWERVE, are not EVER allowed to throw the inbounds pass late in a close game again.

We desperately needed Shandon out there tonight in the forth. He creates so much with his defense. I guess that Rudy thought he would be a liability because he wasn't having a good offensive night.

Instead we go with Walt. Shandon or Bullard would have been a better choice. Walt's passing is suffering as bad as his shooting is, and we all know that he was completely abused tonight in the forth by Abdur-Raheem.

I hope that Rudy decides that he has given Walt enough chances and benches him until he shows improvement. One thing is for sure - he shouldn't be on the court when he is in a horrible slump and the game is on the line.

Anderson does so many things well.He is an all around player who makes his teammates better.....and vice versa. We know he is one of the best defenders in the NBA.Besides great D,he does so many things that don't show up in the box.......So his shot was off, look at the box anyway and tell me his other numbers across the board.......surprised?...all in 26 min.

I couldn't agree with you more. I was going crazy when the time kept ticking and no Anderson in the fourth. I think Rudy has done a decent job since Hakeem went down, but sometimes I don't know what the guy is thinking. It makes me nervous that he is going to revert to his old form when Hakeem comes back.

I don't think Rudy likes Anderson that much. I mean, he has gotten a crappy deal the entire year as far as playing time goes. I just don't understand it. The guy was clutch in Utah but I don't think he has been seen at the end of games except for maybe 3. What is up with that?

There's this one thing I really don't get: why everyone keeps blaming Rudy for everything.

Has it ever occurred to anyone that maybe it wasn't totally Rudy? Did anyone bother to watch Shandon during the time he was in? Did you happen to notice that he refused to take a shot - he wanted to be the evening's assist king. Did you notice that he only had 1 - yes, 1 - point all evening? Have you ever thought that it is possible that Shandon did not want to be in? Have you ever thought that maybe he didn't feel comfortable that night, or maybe he was feeling ill? All these things may come into factor....

How long was I telling you Shandon was coming before you believed me????

Or maybe Rudy checked his Bio Rythms and they were at a low ebb.

    Jenna,

There is a high propensity to retrospectively micro-manage Rudy. My consistent argument is that it is always easy to do so after the fact. Rudy himself probably does it to improve.

The team is coming around, and Rudy is easily better than anyone here at managing this team contemporaneously.

    We won the game.

On Walt: What horrible slump? He was in a slump but last night he shot 5-12 with 4-10 being 3s. That is a very respectable 40% on 3s and 50% on 2s. His shot was back so why shouldn't he get his starter minutes back too?

On Anderson: That said, I would have liked for Anderson to get more minutes even though his shot wasn't falling. Clutch already covered his ass with a caveat, but Anderson did not deserve the "Got Rocked" title. I think it should have gone to Cato for fouling out in 24 minutes. All Anderson's other numbers looked good and, since he wasn't shooting everything that came to him, his poor shooting couldn't hurt too much. Perhaps Mobley should have taken some of Drew's PG minutes (Drew's doing fine but 43 minutes is too much to play anybody) to fit in the nice games by all our swing men (not forgetting Carlos).

I guess there is about a 1 in 1,000 chance that Anderson asked not to be in during the crucial time of the game. Ususally, at least any basketball I have ever been involved in, the coach is the one who decides who is going to be in the game. So I guess anytime the odds are this high that Rudy isn't responsible, we should refrain from dumping the blame on him.

I would deifnatel take an 0/5 Anderson in the clutch over Walt, especially when Walts man is scoring everytime he touches the ball. I mean 0/5 isn't horrendous, it happens quite frequently. Now if it was 0/10 or 0/15 then that would be a different story. Anderson was still making things happen on defense and rebounding. Yes, I watched the entire game.

Yes, Shareef is a great player but Shandon would have made him work harder than Walt did. I too get sick of Cuttino trying to get everyone to clear out for him. It is good sometimes, but not as much as he likes to do it.

i can't believe the people in here are blaming Shareef's scoring in the end on Walt's D... Shareef is unstoppable, put who ever you want on him, he's going to score. this guy is a superstar. the whole time i was screaming at the others for not doubling Shareef and helping the wiz out.

i did want to see shandon in the end, not for walt though, for mobley. i was getting tired of seeing the cat try to make everything a one-on-one matchup for him
