How do you shoot 53 percent from the field but can't sit at the line and shoot over 60 percent It just baffles me how terrible he is especially for a point guard. Its normally understandable centers and other larger players to struggle, but really..... The amount of people that miss free throws in the first place seems I just don't understand how he is so bad. Maybe he just shoots 53 percent from the field because he sits behind Papa KG/Pierce/Allen/
They had a screenshot of the bench after Rondo missed. Scalabrine had a pretty funny wtf face, engrossed even further cause he's so ginger.
It's pretty easy to grasp. He shoots 62% of all his FG attempts from directly at/under the basket. He's basically terrible anywhere outside 10 feet.
Rondo's big hands prevent him from having consistent mechanics. This is from a Google search of course. http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Rajon-Rondo-216/
Having massive hands shouldn't affect a player's ability to shoot a basketball. Shooting can always be improved through practice, otherwise Jordan would've been a terrible FT shooter with his oven mitt hands.
actually, his jump shot is a piece of shet as well. plain and simple, he can't shoot, not from freethrow line not from anywhere 10 feet away.
He shoots a high percentage because he doesn't take many jumpers. He does not take a lot of shots period and when he does he is driving to the basket. Every now and then he will shot a long two or three but even then he is hesitant.
Rondo has been balling this year and the Big 3 hasn't really been together and when they have played none of the big 3 has really looked good. Pierce has looked the best out of all them but clearly he's not himself.
Rondo is clearly the Celtics' best player. This Pierce injury provides an opportunity to see Rondo take over the 4th quarter of games. I think the Celtics are a better team with Rondo driving and dishing than with Pierce going 1 on 1. As for his shooting, he's not the worst FT shooter in the league, just the worst amongst back court players. Believe it or not, his shot has come a long way since he entered the league. He also displays confidence at the line, so I think the percentages will be acceptable by the end of the year.
rondo is so fun to watch. maybe he can't shoot but at least he doesn't try. unlike ariza, tmac, and rafer who shoot poorly and still continue to take an absurd number of shots. so frustrating to watch. i like rondo cause he knows his limits and excels with his strengths. he doesn't kill the offense with bad shots.
