He is being a big ole baby and not busting his a$$ trying to get back on the court. Instead of realizing he came in out of shape and working hard to rectify that situation he has been pouting and not putting in the effort asked of him to get on the floor. And he is screwing himself because if he WAS putting in the effort he would already be seeing the floor. Steve....GROW UP !!! DD
the consensus is that you need to post this in another steve francis thread... it shouldnt be that hard considering there are 1,000,000 of them.
Good question! I have wondered this all season and I've been wondering why nobody else is talking about it.
Ah, I see the thread got up before the poll did. If I could have added a poll to a different one I would have.
I think Stevie just aint getting the red carpet treatment he thought he would get. He has to tough it out, and prove he's the guard that belongs on the court. Adelman wants a winning team and he is gonna put the players on the court, that he thinks gives him the best chance to win.
Francis is basically best when he's an iso player. I see Francis as a poor man's Alan Iverson. Iverson isn't exactly a low turnover guy either. He needs to go strong to the hoop to succeed. Iverson's assist numbers mostly come from penetrating and passing to the open man and he doesn't rebound as well as Francis. In Adleman's system, Francis must move without the ball. The high post system requires the posts, which would be Yao/Scola/Hayes to pass the ball to the cutters. The cutters in turn receive the ball and have to either go strong to the basket or pass the ball to wherever the open man is who is either making a hard cut toward the basket or making a V cut from the foul line to the three point line to get open. They also run pick and rolls from like 5 different spots. Top of the key, elbows, and sideways baseline. I just don't think that Francis has gotten the system down. He a lot like Iverson in the way he gets his assists. Rebounding is just having an inate nose for the ball and positioning which Francis does very well. He also has the highest free throw shooting percentage last year and gets to the line often. His weakness is pounding the seams off the ball when trying to set up his crossover. If Adleman were smart, he'd figure out how to use Francis's skills.
He's out of shape. It's been frequently reported. Adelman himself thought SF3 would be the starting PG. And he has struggled with the offense. He probably wants to dribble dribble dribble shoot. He didn't play as well as Ralston (who had a great preseason) or MJ (who is a large part of why the Rockets have been successful). And he's definitely not ahead of Tracy McGrady or Bonzi Wells; they're both BETTER PLAYERS. And Kirk Snyder? At least he's in shape.
Adelman knows Steve Francis is our best point guard and can easily lead us to a championship, but he hates Francis and hates his job so he's keeping Francis on the bench so that Les will fire him before the All-Star break.
I'll bite: He can't pass He can't shoot He can't play defense He's fat He's turnover prone He's got a bad attitude He's got two bad knees
francis and marbury are heartbreakers. they tease with their talent, but in the end, they break ur heart. wab
Oh, like what Tmac has done to us in our last 2 Playoff series...Game 7 exits with 2 games leads are REALLY heart breaking arnt they?
so let's plug steve francis in the lineup, who teams have never cracked the 50 win mark, and made the playoffs once.
Yeah i agree...steve francis would of lost in maybe 4 or 5...kinda heart breaking...yes...BUT still NOT AS heart breaking as two playoff series with 2 game leads and a game seven exit...
