Why is everybody trying to step up to us this season?

Eight games into the season and part of the preseason, we already have 3-4 instances with opponents trying to start crap with our players. They should know better since we have Ron Artest and Dorsey on our team now. We're not backing down from anyone this year and everybody should know that.

I can't remember another season with this many altercations this early. Bill Walker, Josh Howard, Matt Barnes, etc. Are scrubs trying to earn themselves some respect by messing with our Rocket superstars? Has the reputation of Tru Warier rubbed off on everyone? I like it.

Its not them, its us. There's always been opponents who talk trash, push and bump, but the Rockets were truly softer back then and never retaliated. Tmac is one of the main guys who was thought of as fragile and soft, so he, along with the rest, are trying to be tougher this year. Against Boston, Tmac retaliated, which he hadn't in a while. Against Dallas, Yao gave Howard a shoulder, which he usually wouldnt. Tonight, Tmac pushed Nash. Rafer's been kinda crazy since last year so he's an exception :D

i should have said, its MAINLY us, other teams are more likely to step up to Houston because they're known as soft., but i think lately we're retaliating like never before, which always escalates things or makes them look like a bigger deal.

theyre not tryna step up, theyre jealous that our team is gonna be stomping them out their buildings startin december.

but ya we also prolly stopped being nice for a change. landry and odom trash talking, howard and osmeone on the rox gettin into it.

but every team is doin the same thing. a lotta physicality seen right now in games and a lotta talk. i like it tho. bring some more of it plz, but dont let it turn into a hellstorm.

Perhaps they're trying to provoke Ron Artest, since they know he's on his best behavior.

Wouldn't surprise me but I hope he passes by cold headed.

I like to see some chemistry, everybody stepping out for Rafer Alston and guarding him.
