Why is everybody panicking? We lost 3 in a row to Dallas, so what? They're the best team in the league right now. They do that to a lot of teams. How is this loss worst than the losses we've had to Chicago, Atlanta, Golden State, New York, and the Clippers? Sure, the team is struggling right now, but as true Rockets fans, the best thing we can do is continue to support the team. We shouldn't worry about Dallas. They're the sorriest team in Texas in the entire NBA history. They've never even been to the Finals, let alone win a championship. That's something only the Rockets fans and Spurs fans (with an asterisk) can relate to.
Oh... I agree, the loses to Memphis, LA Clips, GS, New York, Chicago...all of those are way worse. However, I see this team finishing out of the playoffs and right at .500. DD
Just imagine if the Rockets had beaten those teams. Their record would be 29-15, and no one would be complaining. It still sickens me. Sub-500 teams will be the death of the Rockets.
Lost 5 out of last 6. Huh, you gotta be panickng, players or fans, otherwise you dont care. One Chinse adage "Medicine is bitter, good advice is harsh."
We are upset because of flaws in our team that will not just go away with time. The power struggle of offensive style. One quarter team play, feeding off of the post, next quarter one-on-one, do or die, no team work. Lack of passing, lack of intelligents, lack of positive adjustments during a game. Bad coaching. The Dallas loss is not any worse than the other losses, it just piles on and shows that our problems are not individual game mistakes, they are player and coaching deficiencies that are not being adjusted or fixed. I could care less about any team we lose to or how bad we lose. I'm upset because I see very little improvement of the above stated problems. The saddest thing is we have tons of talent, yet talent alone will only take us so far. So as a fan you want them to succeed but in the back of your mind you know without failure nothing will change, so your almost wishing they would totally collapse so these problems will be worked on. So that the Rockets can realize their vast potential.
I am still hoping our best ball is ahead of us. We are only about halfway through the season. We get back to playing that team ball like we did for that nice stretch early on when we beat the Kings, Mavs, we are alright. I am concerned about teams sneaking up and taking our playoff spot, but I don't see it really happening. We will be fine, make the playoffs, and if we play really, even make the second round, you can not ask for more than that realistically.
My reasons for being mad… I see enough flashes or stretches of greatness to get my hopes sky high about this team and the future But then I also see so many turnonovers, bad shots, selfishness and flat out 5th rate basketball that I feel like drinking a yard of draino.
Its not the losses but the way we are playing. We have taken NUMEROUS steps backwards in my humble opinion. Our team shows no heart. no team work. no leadership.
