Why is a player "undroppable"

This is my first time ever doing a fantasy league with some pals of mine. It just so happens Danny Granger is going to be out for an extended amount of time.

I just tried dropping him off my roster for someone off free agency, and it said can't drop an undroppable player.

So my question is, is there anyway to get him off my roster ?

    Would a trade work ?

    Thanks

Its to prevent people from "dumping" players toward the end of the season, in fairness to the integrity of the league.

Usually referred to as a "can't cut" list.

If Granger ends up being ruled out for a long period of time, it may be amended to allow him to be dropped, but right now you'd be foolish to drop him without knowing the extent of time he's going to miss.

Keep him. I am. He'll come back just as good.
He contributes in too many categories, and if you were able to cut him, i can basically guarantee that someone else would pick him up for their bench.

Dude, you're committing suicide if you drop him. Keep him on your bench until he comes back.

Mike Sims-Walker is on that list in my football league. I have no idea why.

I think theres a nocut list to prevent a talent imbalance. Whoever's in control of the list is usually just a week slow in adding/removing that status.

Think if it's a custom list it's up to the whim of the commish.

I know in one of my leagues, Miles Austin, Sidney Rice and Vernon Davis are no-cuts. Which kinda makes sense if you look to where they'll be drafted next year as opposed to what they were drafted at this year.

Lol, you want to drop Granger just because he is out for a month? Don't do it he's like your first round pick...

Who did you want to pick up from FA that was so good??
