Here's my thing. In this country there's something called sanctity of a contract, and just because you are a freaking billionaire doesn't mean that you can breach a contract and on top b**** to the press about it. Nellie had a guaranteed deal. Just beacuse Nellie is a quirky genius with no discipline don't mean you can void his deal. Nellie is the most creative basketball mind in all of basketaball, he built that team from the bottom up. At some point the team needed more structure and discipline, it needed AJ, that was what was best for the team. Should have he stayed and hurt the team, so that he can collect on his contract? What's the difference with waiving all these players (Finley, Abdul-Wahad, etc. etc. ) and paying their deal and not paying the mastermind who build the whole team? That was rotten of Mark and he knows it; he knows that the Player Union is much stronger than the coaches, that coaches don't have fan bases and don't sell jerseys, so he thought it was OK to screw the old man and spit on him in the press by saying that he wanted to get paid without working... And don't get me started on Dolan and that jellyfish Isiah Thomas...
i root for golden state bc dallas is full of overrated players who think they're better than they are, mark cuban is a tool, devin harris flops and gets calls an inordinate amount of times relative to how unimportant a player he is, baron davis a stud and pure class, don nelson is awesome, and dirk is the least valuable player to be getting most valuable player consideration.
Nelson is the most underrated coach in the league and has been for years, IMO. He's a true basketball genius, and he has done it over and over again in different situations and with different players/teams. So it's not like D'Antoni with Nash running the show. He's very unique, whether you love or hate his coaching style it doesn't matter, the guy is a pure mastermind.
I root for Golden State because of -Baron Davis - I've held onto him in a fantasy keeper league since he was a rookie regardless of the injuries he's had...not that it's helped me be successful, but I just can't let him go. -I can't stand Mark Cuban - he's an awesome owner, but a moronic whiner. -I can't stand Nowitzki - flopper. -I dislike the Mavs - ever since Nash left. -Warriors have always been one of my favorite teams to watch.
I just wanna see the old man take his student to school... I miss Run TMC. Ah.. the Run n Gun days.. Hardaway was unstoppable back then!
I root for the Warriors to take the Mavericks to 7 games plus triple overtime, but then lose. We match up better with the Mavericks, and they don't double front Yao.
Funny how Nash, Nellie, and even Finley at times continue to screw with Mark Cuban and the Mavericks.. LOLLL
I am on the fence about this one.....I really like home court, but I think the Rockets match up better with Dallas too. Ah screw it...give me homecourt ! DD
Let the Warriors surround Yao with 3 guys in the paint. If Shane, Rafer, and Luther can't make wide open 3's all night long, we wouldn't deserve to win anyway.
I root for GSW because of Devin Harris. Devin Harris is a complete disgrace to the game and I will root for any team that he is up against.
I don't like Dallas. I usually root for the underdog. Since I went to Cal I got a soft spot for the Warriors. I've always liked Nellie. and finally
I will root against Golden State because Stephen Jackson did his best to destroy my favorite team, the Pacers, with thuggish behavior and inconsistent play. He got traded and then we see him playing harder and with more focus, showing that he was sandbagging in Indy all along. I just hope that "Pacman Jackson" parties it up with guns and whores like he did in Indiana, and then Golden State dies a quick but painful death.
