As a long time pro-tanker, I'll quote myself from another thread here: This year, there is absolutely no downside to winning. And I'm absolutely thrilled about that.
I agree w/ your assessment. I'd like to add I was ALWAYS a pro tanker, and I stand by that. We could've tanked rather than having the last 2 years of meh years and gotten 2 top 5 picks. This worked out GREAT for us, but had Harden agreed to a few mill less, we'd still be in a MEH situation in dire need of a star who can draw another star.
Sorry forgot to say, now no need to tank. I wanted to tank for a star to bring another star. Now we have 1, now we just need another star to agree to come to Houston.
Here are the 10 players drafted in the top 5 in the past 2 years: Kyrie Irving Derrick Williams Enes Kanter Tristan Thompson Jonas Valanciunas John Wall Evan Turner Derrick Favors Wesley Johnson DeMarcus Cousins Out of those 10 players, I would take 1 over Harden. And that is only if you could have gotten the #1 pick.
Morey continues to amaze me. Hopefully Harden pans out, I'll be rooting. It'll be fun watching a young player again and hoping he grows and gets better and better.
Once again Morey proves me wrong........I am once again a member of the Church of Morey and I will repent for my blasphemy! James Harden!
And you're a tard who said that Martin's defense was good. Stop trolling. BTW I like this trade, but do you really think James Harden is an elite franchise player? Our core is Harden, Lin, and Asik...what the **** is that good for?
Good for a playoff spot, and more importantly, great for attracting another legitimate All Star or Elite player with the cap space at the end of the year. Superstars don't go to small/mid market teams without great supporting casts.
