Why hasn't Yao Ming been Rookie of the week or month?

    Its about time that we started seeing Yao Mings name being published as the 'Rookie of the Week' or 'Rookie of the Month'! Don't you think?

    Thats because I believe he skiped that and has already or was one of the people mentioned as the NBA player of the week

    seriously what 6 double doubles in a row doesnt do u any good now?? but i think he was player of the week for the nba im not sure

    He has topped the rookie power ranking for two weeks running now. A couple of weeks ago he was also nominated for NBA player of the week although someone else took the honour.

    It would definitely be a confidence booster for the Rockets seeing their Chinese prodigy arise and show these no-respect-for-the-Rockets fans that we got ourselves a player!

    from what i've read about yao i'm pretty sure he has little interest if any in that acheivement. he'll probably get it for this month anyways and far and away the leader in rookie of the year.

    No question, Yao Ming will get the December Rookie of the Month. It probably won't be his last award either. :p

    BECAUSE the NBA can´t admite that he is the better rookie of the year
    He Is not american, so they envy him. NBA not have a player like this on the unitd states (se pican)
    Simply. I hope he will be the rookie of December:rolleyes: if not

    I think we haven't seen any of those awards because if he keeps playing the way he is playing, he's a shoo-in for Rookie of the Year and people know it. He has a *shot* at the All-NBA second team, imo.

    So the minor awards are given to other guys who are playing well.

    What are you talking about?!?!? The NBA, as in the comissioner's office and its marketing team, loves Yao and want him to be a poster child for its international branding effort. Why wouldn't they want Yao to succeed? THINK! THINK! :rolleyes:
