I saw a story about people not being able to find small turkeys. Apparently when the turkeys were smaller, the industry couldn't find enough workers.

A lot of supply chain issues are not enough workers. Finally I looked up the rate. Had no idea it's so low

When people complain about the economy Biden should be like did you see unemployment? Scoreboard

From a speech 6 weeks ago...

"In just eight months since I became President, in the midst of a grave public health and economic crisis, the unemployment rate is now down below 5 percent — at 4.8 percent. Let me just repeat that: Today’s report has the unemployment rate down to 4.8 percent, a significant improvement from when I took office and a sign that our recovery is moving forward even in the face of a COVID pandemic. "

CNN ran low unemployment stories along with Washington Post, NYT, CBS, ABC, Bloomberg, Politico, and the list goes on...

It doesn't matter what good news there is. The grievance is culture wars 24/7.

So you not see stories of Democrats losing seats in the House in mid terms because of the economy?

I do see stories about that. Republicans are "ignoring" unemployment because they can currently harp on inflation.

There is truth to this. Culture Wars are easily understandable for average Americans and ratings friendly

On inflation news, from a person working blue collar jobs, I see an increase in wages. I don't know if it's national but with the worker supply issues I would suspect so.

I fully agree the Democrats are terrible at messaging and they have frequently allowed the political discourse to be hijacked including messages such as "Defund the Police". Inflation is a problem but it's not as crippling as many make it out to be. Overall the economy is doing very good and measures such as those passed in the two infrastructure bills will only help it.

The problem is that it doesn't take many people to make a lot of noise. On things like the CRT and even COVID-19 vaccine mandates there really isn't much there (CRT isn't being taught in public schools and a majority of Americans are vaccinated and support more measures to control COVID-19) and over coming that noise is difficult especially when Democrats like McAuliffe make self-inflicted wounds.

The other sad truth is as Trump has shown his supporters don't actually care about intellectual consistency or even results. They care about attitude and the impression. As such Republicans can say all sorts of things even if they contradict previous positions as long as they are "owning the libs". Democrats though want to see consistency and results but given the fractious nature of the party they can't always agree on about what.

We have to make it a meme if we want it to be seen, apparently

It's not that Dem don't talk about low unemployment and all those other good news stuff. It's that the media has been well trained to focus on bad news. And I wouldn't blame the media for that. People are naturally biased toward bad news. And I wouldn't blame people for that either. If we are too focused on good news, we wouldn't have survived this long.

This is why negative political attacks work. What's new recently is we have gone from the usual negative attacks to pretty much made-up **** all the time. Selective good news can't really compete against that. You have to be scoring high 80/100 to compete and the Dem ain't going to score above a 70. The Rep doesn't need to score anything (when they do, it's extra points) - their primary game is simply the made-up **** all the time.

Because the Democrats are not a tribe and in a normal world, they don't need to state obvious things, because they are obvious, just to act as hype men.

Of course, to avoid the hellscape of Republican lunacy.

    You think its "messaging".

The crazies on the right don't need different messaging, they need therapy and anti cult intervention interventions.
