It is said he has narrowed to three or four teams and these teams only offered him a two-year contract, which he is not satisfied with. So the hunting is going on. We have the chip of MJ which can catch the interest of Sonics. Why is there no shot from CD?
That's a good question, but I like Mike James anyways. It's more of a lateral move than an improvement.
AD has been offered the MLE by the Cavaliers and the Lakers. First, I don't know if the Rockets want to pay him that much. Second, if we did want to pay that kind of money, it's more difficult to get him compared to the other two teams, because a third party would have to be involved (the Sonics). We don't know if the Sonics would have interest in James, Sura or Wesley
We can offer a longer contract of 3 or 4 years. The guy is not old (29) ,especially for the PG position. He can play with MMS for 4 years.
I don't think AD is any better than a healthy Sura. There is too much overlap for both of them to be on our team. We need a real point guard, not another combo guard.
I think he is seriously overrated. He's a nice player, but not for the $5mill/yr he is about to get. He just has a positive vibe attached to him right now. There are much cheaper alternatives.
I agree, Antonio Daniels is overrated. I would have liked the Rockets to get him last year but I'm not that high on him, and trading Mike James for him is a lateral move at best. Both have championship rings so it's not like we're trading for Daniels for championship experience. Hopefully this means the Rocks are going after Damon Stoudamire.
If we found a way to get Daniels i wouldn't be opposed. His defense is solid, he can stroke it from down town and has enough playmaking and ball handling skills to work with T-mac. But i'm not sure we can lure him here with either the LLE or a sign and trade. I agree its a lateral move but a solid one.
