Republicans love to talk about how we got to get the 40 trillion dollar deficit under control but only when a Democrat is president. But now, silence. I am just curious how our conservative friends justify this way of thinking. Curious to get your thoughts in this poll

The answer is pretty simple and as one of the smartest people in this forum, you should know.

This was talked about frequently 25 years ago. The wasteful and inefficient spending on forever wars and entitlements and other wasteful government spending has created a system where the government must continue to go deeper in debt to pay these obligations. This is not a Republican/Democrat debate. This is just the shitty nature of todays politics ran by boomers. Trying to blame one political party over another is r****ded mental gymnastics that exposes low iq understanding of the world today.

But we all know you're going to claim meta trolling.

It's not blaming it's calling out Republican hypocrisy on debt. They use the debt issue to stymie Democrat objectives while running up debt just as fast when they are in power

    1) The political parties are not aligned in the same way as when you were indoctrinated 25-40 years ago. When you're trying to claim Republicans are the party of austerity or fiscal responsibility, you're kicking a 25 year old dead horse. Evolve. move on. Neither party knows how to fix some of our most serious problems in our country, which is why we keep getting Trump/Hillary/Biden/Harris/Waltz and most of the trash in congress.

    2) We are in an out-of-control debt spiral that can't be fixed in 5 years. Or even in 10 years. And the generation that will need to fix it is completely addicted to convenience and instant gratification. They can't even focus for 45 minutes to prepare their own meal and instead door dash shitty and unhealthy cold food because the refuse to pry the electronic device from their hands.

Today’s Republicans are hypocrites. I like your OP, but good luck getting an honest response from the Republicans and trumpers who post in this forum.
