they both suck at FT's( yes that true)

but at least Capela is a respectable shotblocker and rebounder from the few minutes he gets..

the second quarter of the spurs game looked like a layup drill as soon as dwight left the court

Not to mention you can actually throw lobs to Capela

a 6'8 center will almost never work. If Dorsey is seeing minutes in the playoffs over Capela we will struggle, just my opinion

We may eventually get here... but the guy is 2 weeks removed from being in the D-league.

More than likely, as Dwight's minutes go up... you'll see less and less of Dorsey anyways. (and he only plays against teams with a true center).

Because Capela is a Rookie. McHale hates rookies.

i like the energy Nick Johnson and Capella bring to the game. they are defense first, and we could use them right now

Mchale just needs to realize Joey Dorsey shouldn't have any mins. Especially, If he's not gonna at least attempt to work on those atrocious things he call Free throw attempts. I can proudly say I can shoot FTs better than a NBA player. This dude isn't even hitting the rim! Its like he can't see the goal or something!

I think it's safe to say that guys quoting capela's free throw stats as an excuse not to play him over Dorsey either don't watch the games, have poor understanding of the game or both. Capela has a tiny sample size of shooting in the NBA and yes he hasn't hit yet, but he's demonstrated the ability to hit at a decent clip in the d league. He just needs time and reps. Joey has had both and still hasn't gotten, and never will, get better.

Aside from free throws, capela brings an actual defensive presence and offensive threat. Joey does neither and the difference is significant.

Where can we find Dorsey's overall +\- for the season?

Good post. Too bad the McHale does not get it either.

Capela's defensive rotations were pretty horrific. I love his potential, but Dorsey is a much better positional defender.

You're not going to win or lose a title... because of your backup center.

He's bad at everything except rebounding. Capella is the much more impactful defender.

If your backup center plays a certain amount of backup minutes and sucks bad enough that guy can lose the game. No team plays the same 5 players the whole game.

This is ridiculous. Capela has been super effective in his time on the court. We are getting crushed on the glass. Dorsey is sitting at -13 +/i and has 2 rebounds in 11 minutes. Dorsey's minutes need to end now.

I don't understand possessions like that. Aria gets the ball back at the top and decides to give it Josh Smith rather than Harden... Is it just me or is Ariza always reluctant to pass it off to Harden.

There has never been a team that lived/died by the quality of play of their backup center... especially not one that has an all-star center to begin with.
