90% of the time he runs the pick and roll, he doesn't set a hard pick but just rolls out. What's the deal with that?
Its called a fade. The idea is that both Howard's defender and the roller's defender stay on the roller and then Howard has a wide open oop/lane.
This isn't football, it is not a block. Any sort of contact outside of incedental is going to be a foul on Howard.
It works great. There's less of a chance that Howard picks up a moving screen foul off some flop, and it's still effective enough for the ball handler to get by his man. There are two problems however: 1) the ball handler has no driving lane due to twin towers and 2) the ball handler doesn't know how to or look to pass the ball to Howard when he's open rolling to the rim.
Greg smith and asik set them better, he is a good player but does not give u the effort u want all the time, just face and get ready for 4 more years, I knew that when he was signed
Maybe because he shot 8-14 and no one passed him the ball in the second half As Shaq said, “When you feed the big dog, it does whatever you tell him to do.”
Dwight's pick's were a major problem for the Lakers last season. He seemingly looked uninterested in the pick and roll game which was his best offensive asset with the Magic. Nash even complained about it after Dwight left.
