I really don't get it. Whenever Tmac is out, and now this year Artest, Rafer feels he's the closer. Yao or Wafer should have the ball in the closing seconds of quarters and games. I really want to hear what the Rafer lovers have to say. I love ocho texto!
Of course he is. “It’s leadership,” Tracy McGrady said. “Rafer’s a great floor general. He’s just solid for us.” http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/6118057.html
I am very happy that he shot well tonight, but we all know that it's not going to last. he is carrier 38% shooter. I would not want him to have more than 8 attempt per game if possible.
Terrible, Alston made 17 attempts, higher than Yao's. Why Adelman didnt limit his shooting(dont take his shooting percentage as a excuse--9/17, 3-pts 2/6), thats not good to Rox, Yao always the leader of this team. Alston need to adjust how to play as a good player, as our starting PG, only 2 assists, while Battier has 6 assists.
Rafer takes the shots because the other team leaves him WIDE open. Simple as that. If Rafer isn't hitting, then he'll sub in Brooks. Adelman's offense isn't built for the PG to get a lot of assists. EVERYBODY must pass the ball. Battier's 6 assists has NOTHING to do with him creating shots for other players. Rafer's job is the bring up the ball reliably, ensure everybody is setup correctly and make the first pass. Then the ball probably gets passed 3-4 times before somebody finds an open shot. Battier just happens to be standing in spot # 4.
He was not left WIDE open. He takes many bad shots. His shot attemps per game is the same as his points per game. He's shooting 35% this season, not much better than Chuck Hayes. He was 2-7 0-2 4pts 4 TO in the first half. I hope those shots he made in the second half don't make him shoot even more in the next game.
At least one time I think Adelman got on Rafer's case coming off the floor because he didn't start the play until there was 5 seconds left in the quarter. The good thing is that even though Rafer made the shot (which is especially rare at the end of quarters), Adelman didn't like how it was done and told him the play should have started sooner. Rafer's reaction indicated he agreed. Most of the time even when the play is started earlier, if Rafer still has the ball with 6-7 seconds left, the other team will make it difficult for him to pass and force him to throw up a shot. Maybe the Heat game will turn around Rafer's season and he'll play like he belongs in the NBA and not the D-league. We all know that isn't likely but hope is alive.
Get used to it..... other teams know he is not consistent, so they let him chunk them up. AB looked really bad last night. Its sad that our pgs are shoot first and that they are inconsistent. Dare I say other teams will exploit this in the playoffs.
like any other player, Rafer is a NBA player and de does a great job of handeling the ball. he never said that he was a great shooter but when he can help your team win games by hitting key shot and taking people to the goal like D-Wade... then let him!!!!!
