    thinks he's a go-to guy?

Why in the hell do we give him the ball in the perimeter so he can face up?

I'm sorry, but on most teams, he would only get the ball on open dunks or layups.

Why is he featured so much in our offense?

My guess is he's running plays designed for Mo. And I don't see that as totally unwarranted. He's got good quickness, if not the size.

KT was featured too much last season also. When our team was relatively healthy.

Okay, I lied, one last post for the day...

I think KT is being featured a lot because the staff expects quite a bit out of him. Maybe they are trying too hard to make KT into a player he just can't be at this time. He is getting good press, extra attention from the coaching staff, and plays made just for him. I hope he developes as much as the next guy, but maybe some of this attention would be better focused on someone with more potential? Just MHO, and I'll probably change my mind about this later in the season if KT pans out to be the player Rudy expects.

    Have a good weekend everyone!

Unless Thomas grows 3 inches, or loses 20 lbs. I don't see him being more than a backup player.

Too short to be a PF, too slow to be a SF.

He's a nice guy to have of the bench, but he will NEVER be a go-to guy.

He doesn't have a consistent enough shot, and he doesn't have enought strength to finish near the bucket.

I think too many Rockets fans overrate KT. KT would be the 3rd PF on most teams, yet he might be our starting PF.

Gee... I think that's a bit harsh on KT.
One thing he does have is strength around the hoop - in fact I'd say the 2 major knocks on his game would be his weight and his tendancy to go missing.
But the talent is certainly there.

But don't fear, when Cat and Rice come back KT shouldn't get so many shots (whow else do we run the plays for now? Torres?)

Maybe they're trying to justify using that first round pick on second player. I didn't under the pick then, i don't understand the pick now. Thomas is a career back-up like trent, caffey, and corliss. Its just hard to play undersized at that position unless they're special like Barkley and by his second yr we knew he was special.

KT misses layups because he doesn't go up strong. Part of that may have to do with his height, or the lackthereof.

I don't mean to make this a bash KT thread, but he's a good player when he's not a focal point of our offense.

It seems to me that we give too many ISOs to players who can't do much with the ball. Kenny is the most blatant example.

KT must want to lose his starting role to a rookie. :D

Well I think against Detroit KT showed what he can do. Tonight I was really impressed with his hussle and moves. Now if only we can see this on a consistent basis... :)

Sounds like the staff thinks he has some ability that they are trying to develop.

Don't knock KT. He has worked hard over the preseason, and he is in excellent shape. Kenny may not be starter material, but he can rebound.

Obviously, he is not the go to guy on a team loaded with options. This is the preseason and we don't have anyone else to step up at the power forward spot. Give the man a break.

Since when did Ben Wallace become a good pf? He did well against a should be bench player. The Rockets play SA soon, I want to evaluate him against the type of pf's we'll be playing against. The Rockets still seem to stand around too much. They have good movement early, but then they just stand around shooting 3's.

Leebigez, the Rockets did shoot a lot of 3's in the second quarter, but in the 4th quarter I thought they did a much better job of balancing their shot selection. Maybe they took as many or more threes in the 4th, but it was because they opened it up by slashing to the basket and good passing. I also agree that the Spurs with be a true test for KT. Kenny just seems so eratic when I think about it. One night he really impresses us, and the next he just kinda disappears...
